PS5 error code CE-107520-5 means the console needs the latest system software. PlayStation Support’s message for the code is “Please install the latest system software.” Update the PS5 over the internet first; if that fails, use Sony’s USB or game-disc method. The code alone does not establish that the console has a hardware fault.
Update the PS5 over the internet

Connect the PS5 to the internet.

Open Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings, then check for and install the latest system software. Follow the on-screen instructions.

If an error occurs during the update, restart the PS5 and your network equipment, then try again.
If a system software download is stuck, open Downloads/Uploads from the control center, highlight the system software update, select View Error Info, then choose Try Again. If repeated download attempts fail, Sony directs users to its computer-based update instructions.

Choose another update method if the internet update fails
Sony documents USB and game-disc updates as alternatives. Choose based on what you have available; Sony does not present one as a universal best option.

On a computer connected to the internet, follow Sony’s official USB update instructions and download the system software update file.

Format the USB drive as FAT32 or exFAT. Create a folder named

Save the update file in the
UPDATEfolder with the exact filenamePS5UPDATE.PUP. -
Connect the USB drive to the PS5 and use the Safe Mode option for updating system software. Follow Sony’s on-screen instructions.

Sony also provides a separate system software reinstallation file and a Reset PS5 (Reinstall System Software) option. Reinstallation is not the same as an ordinary update; do not choose the reset or use the reinstallation file unless Sony’s instructions for your situation specifically call for it.
Update from a game disc
If the disc contains a newer system software version, starting it can bring up an update screen. Follow the instructions displayed on the PS5.

Protect the console during the update

Use only update data provided by Sony and the methods described in Sony’s support instructions. Sony warns that unofficial files or methods can prevent proper operation or installation and may affect warranty or repair service.

Do not turn off the console while system software is installing; Sony warns that interrupting installation can damage the console.

Sony advises against installing an update immediately before or after a power outage.
If CE-107520-5 remains after updating
If the official update methods do not resolve the error, follow PlayStation Support’s guidance for persistent update problems or contact PlayStation Support/Repairs. The error code by itself is not evidence of a particular failed component.
