PlayStation’s game listing identifies Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as a PS5 title and marks it PS5 Pro Enhanced. The game follows Peter Parker and Miles Morales across an expanded Marvel’s New York. On PS5 Pro, the specific enhancement described by developer Insomniac Games is a new default graphics mode called Performance Pro.

Insomniac’s Core Technology Director Mike Fitzgerald described Performance Pro as marrying Fidelity mode’s “crisp 4K resolution and ray tracing features” with Performance mode’s “speedy 60 frames per second.” In practical terms, the mode is designed to bring together visual features associated with Fidelity and the 60 fps target associated with Performance, rather than making players choose between those two original modes.
Does Spider-Man 2 run at 60 fps on PS5 Pro?
Insomniac states that Performance Pro combines the 60-frames-per-second target of Performance mode with Fidelity mode’s features. PlayStation’s September 2024 first-look article also said its representatives saw the game running at a high frame rate with Fidelity-mode resolution and features, including ray-traced reflections.

Neither statement is a published independent test. The official sources reviewed do not provide a controlled performance capture, frame-time analysis, a measured resolution for the game, or a patch-specific comparison. Treat 60 fps as the developer’s stated mode target, not a guarantee of an exact measured frame rate in every scene or setup.
What visual features does Performance Pro include?
The developer’s description specifically connects Performance Pro to Fidelity mode’s 4K resolution and ray-tracing features. PlayStation’s preview separately mentions ray-traced reflections. The sources do not itemize every setting or state that every Fidelity-mode detail is preserved, so claims beyond those described features are not established.
PlayStation describes PS5 Pro games generally as capable of features such as ray tracing, 60 fps or up to 120 fps, and AI-enhanced 4K output through PSSR on a compatible 4K TV. Those are platform-wide capabilities, not a Spider-Man 2 specification: feature combinations vary by game and display. The general up-to-120-fps language is not evidence that this game’s Performance Pro mode runs at 120 fps.
PS5 versus PS5 Pro: what is known about the difference?
The PS5 Pro version has the specifically described Performance Pro mode. The reviewed official material does not provide a controlled, game-specific side-by-side comparison of the original PS5 modes against PS5 Pro, or a complete settings table. It therefore supports describing the Pro mode’s intended combination of features, but not quantifying the visual or performance improvement over the base console.

PlayStation’s November 4, 2024 launch article included Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in a sample of more than 50 games with PS5 Pro enhancements available at launch on November 7, 2024. That is a historical launch figure, not a current count of the enhanced-game catalog.

PlayStation’s compatibility guide says a disc drive with cover is compatible with PS5 Pro, with cover compatibility differing by model group; that general guidance does not establish a particular Spider-Man 2 disc SKU or bundle.
