Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl share several Legendary Pokémon, but their cover encounters and Ramanas Park exclusives differ. Dialga is Brilliant Diamond’s cover Legendary; Palkia is Shining Pearl’s. After entering the Hall of Fame, you can access Ramanas Park and other Legendary encounters around Sinnoh. This guide separates the confirmed version differences and encounter methods from details that are not established here, such as a complete slate-cost chart or step-by-step locations for every postgame Pokémon.
Which Legendary Pokémon are exclusive to each version?
The cover Pokémon depends on your game. Ramanas Park also has a version-exclusive group: Brilliant Diamond features the Johto trio and Ho-Oh, while Shining Pearl features the Kanto trio and Lugia.
| Game | Cover Legendary | Ramanas Park version-exclusive group |
|---|---|---|
| Pokémon Brilliant Diamond | Dialga | Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Ho-Oh |
| Pokémon Shining Pearl | Palkia | Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Lugia |
Nintendo has said that the other version’s Ramanas Park exclusives can be obtained by other means, such as trading. The games also share Ramanas Park encounters; Nintendo names Mewtwo and Rayquaza as examples. Those examples are not a complete list of every shared encounter.
How do you get the opposite cover Pokémon into the Sinnoh Pokédex?
You can register the other game’s cover Legendary as seen without catching it. In Celestic Town, visit Cynthia’s grandmother in her home and view the book she shows you. Seeing Dialga or Palkia this way provides the Pokédex entry; it does not give you that Pokémon.

When do the postgame Legendary encounters unlock?
Entering the Hall of Fame opens major postgame Legendary content, including Ramanas Park and encounters around Sinnoh. The official postgame overview names Heatran, Regigigas, Giratina in Altered Forme, and Cresselia among the Pokémon you can encounter after this milestone.
The available official overview does not specify the exact route, prerequisites, or encounter details for each of those four Pokémon. Treat Hall of Fame entry as the broad postgame gate, not as a claim that each encounter becomes immediately available or that the steps are identical.

How does Ramanas Park work?
Ramanas Park is a postgame facility. In its rooms, you place the slate corresponding to a pedestal to trigger a Legendary encounter. The version-exclusive groups are listed above, and Mewtwo and Rayquaza are examples of shared Park encounters.
The official announcement describing the slate mechanic does not provide a complete current slate-acquisition sequence or exchange-cost chart. This guide therefore does not assign costs, list a full slate order, or claim specific unlock requirements for individual Park rooms.

How should you prepare to catch a Legendary?
- Reduce its HP carefully. Avoid knocking it out. False Swipe is useful because it can weaken a wild Pokémon without reducing its HP below one.
- Use a status condition. Sleep or paralysis improves catch chances, but neither guarantees a capture.
- Choose an appropriate Ball. Dusk Balls are more effective at night or in caves, including the Grand Underground. Great Balls and Ultra Balls become available after specified Badge milestones; the official guide does not give those milestone details in the material summarized here.
- Expect failed attempts. Even a weakened Pokémon with a status condition can break free. A Master Ball is the exception to the general possibility of a failed throw.
These are general capture tips, not a guaranteed method for any named Legendary. The official guidance cited here does not establish retry or reset behavior for each specific encounter.

No. Mew and Jirachi are Mythical Pokémon, so they are bonuses rather than entries in the Legendary lists above. Each game can receive one of each, provided the relevant save record is present on the Nintendo Switch system:

- The Pokémon TCG: Shining Fates Collection—Pikachu V includes:

- 1 foil oversize card featuring Pikachu V
- 4 Pokémon TCG: Shining Fates booster packs
- A code card for the Pokémon Trading Card Gam e Online

- Mew: Speak to the madame in that flower field if the system has a Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! save record.
These are save-record requirements; owning a game or having a qualifying record on a different system is not established here as sufficient.
What about Arceus and Darkrai?
Official Pokémon information says players can encounter Arceus and Darkrai after meeting conditions, and identifies the Azure Flute as part of the Arceus path. The exact prerequisites and any current event or save-record requirements are not established here, so this guide does not present a step-by-step route for either Mythical Pokémon.
