The official Pokémon Legends: Z-A trailer was published on July 22, 2025, with the latest information about the game. It is now playable on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and the official site confirms physical and digital copies are available. The trailer page itself does not confirm that the video was shown during Pokémon Presents, so that presentation context should be treated as the supplied title’s framing, not as a claim established by the page.
What is the Pokémon Legends: Z-A trailer?
Pokémon’s official trailer page is dated July 22, 2025. It introduced a special video with the latest information about Pokémon Legends: Z-A and noted that preorders were open at the time. That preorder notice is historical; the game has since been released.

The page identifies the video as a new trailer but does not independently identify it as a Pokémon Presents segment. The title’s Pokémon Presents 2025 wording therefore describes the requested context rather than something verified by that page.
What gameplay footage does it show?
The trailer offers a look at the game, but its visuals need one important qualification: some gameplay images come from the Nintendo Switch 2 version. Pokémon also warns that the footage was captured from a product under development and that the actual gameplay experience may vary. It should not be treated as a guarantee that every shot represents final retail gameplay, or that the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 editions look identical.

Can you play Pokémon Legends: Z-A on Nintendo Switch 2?
Yes. The game is available for Nintendo Switch and as a separate Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Pokémon’s release information describes the Switch 2 Edition as offering improved resolution and frame rates. It also says a Nintendo Switch 2 is required to use that edition’s functions and content.
The two options, at a glance:
| Version | Compatible system | What the official information establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Pokémon Legends: Z-A for Nintendo Switch | Nintendo Switch | Available; the release page does not specify the same resolution and frame-rate improvements described for the Switch 2 Edition. |
| Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition | Nintendo Switch 2 required for its edition-specific functions and content | Improved resolution and frame rates, according to Pokémon’s release information. |
Is Pokémon Legends: Z-A available as a physical game?
Yes. Pokémon’s availability announcement, dated October 16, 2025, says the game is available in physical and digital copies. It points buyers to Nintendo eShop, My Nintendo Store, and other retailers that carry Pokémon products. Before buying a physical listing, check that it names the intended platform edition and matches your region.
