Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Celestial Guardians (A3) expansion launched globally on April 30, 2025. It brought Alola and Pokémon Sun and Moon characters into the game through Solgaleo and Lunala booster variants. The sources confirm the release date, but not an exact start time or timezone. The expansion is historical, not an upcoming release.

When did Celestial Guardians release?

Celestial Guardians launched globally on April 30, 2025, as Pokémon TCG Pocket’s third main-series expansion, identified as A3. PokéBeach reported the launch on April 29, and the Pokémon Zone guide records the release date. Neither source establishes an exact start hour or timezone, so there is no supported time to give.

Sources: PokéBeach’s launch report and Pokémon Zone’s A3 release guide.

What cards are in the Celestial Guardians set?

Pokémon Zone’s checklist records 239 card variants: 155 diamond cards and 84 star, shiny, and crown counterparts. It is the exhaustive reference for the set; the names below are examples, not the complete list.

The set draws on Generation VII and the Alola region, including Alolan forms and regional characters. See the full Celestial Guardians A3 card checklist for every listed variant.

How do the Solgaleo and Lunala packs differ?

The two in-game booster variants are centered on Solgaleo and Lunala and have distinct card pools. Some Pokémon—including Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio—have versions across both variants, but the pools are not identical. Choose based on the specific cards you want and check the checklist for their pack listing. The sources do not provide comparable pull-rate data, so a claim that either pack gives better odds is not established.

What was new in A3?

  • Alola in Pocket: The expansion introduced Pokémon and characters associated with Pokémon Sun and Moon.
  • Immersive Trainer cards: Lillie and Guzma were highlighted as the first immersive Trainer cards.
  • Launch-period additions: The rollout included solo battles, a Rayquaza ex drop event, six-month anniversary missions, Rowlet accessories, and Lillie cosmetics. These were tied to the launch period; their inclusion here does not mean those events or rewards are currently available.

PokéBeach covered the expansion’s announcement and launch contents in its announcement report and launch report. Pokémon Zone also documents the release-period events.
