The available evidence confirms the den index and how to look up its tables, but does not establish every Wild Area den’s full species roster by beam, raid tier, and game version. This guide explains how to use the verified index without presenting an incomplete roster as exhaustive.
How Wild Area dens and raid spawns work
A Pokémon den is a fixed location where a Max Raid Battle can appear. The official Pokémon Sword and Shield gameplay page explains that interacting with a red pillar starts an encounter with a Dynamax Pokémon. You can also join other players’ raids through Y-Comm stamps.
The beam color matters when looking up the encounter: den references distinguish common red-beam spawns from rare purple-beam spawns. A location name by itself does not identify the full roster; use the numbered den page linked from the index to check its encounter tables.
Find a den number and its spawn table
- Open Serebii’s Pokémon Den location index and select the Wild Area location you recognize.
- Note the den number shown for that map location. Do not assume every entry in the broader index is in the Wild Area: it also covers Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra dens.
- Open the linked page for that specific den. Check the common red-beam and rare purple-beam tables separately.
- Check the encounter details for the game version and raid tier. Some encounters differ between Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.
This lookup is more reliable than searching ordinary wild encounter tables. Weather and location affect Pokémon encountered in the grass, but those encounters are separate from the den-based raid pools.

What is confirmed about the full den list
Serebii’s index describes 99 Pokémon dens across Galar, but that count includes areas beyond the Wild Area. It should not be read as a count of Wild Area dens alone. The index maps locations to den numbers and links to encounter tables; it does not, by itself, give one complete Wild Area roster in a single table.
A den-by-den species list must be checked against each linked page to capture beam color, raid tier, and Sword or Shield availability. Without those checks, a purported list of every Wild Area den and every spawn would risk omitting or misattributing encounters. For a particular den, the linked individual table is the appropriate reference.

Standard den pools versus Wild Area events
The linked den listings describe standard encounter pools and state that they do not factor in Wild Area Events. Events can temporarily change which Pokémon appear, so a standard den table may not describe an active event’s pool. Event-specific availability needs a dated event listing; the standard index alone does not establish a current event roster.

For a reverse lookup, start with the Pokémon’s name in a den encounter reference, note the den number and whether the result is in the common or rare table, then return to the location index to identify the map location. Confirm the game version and raid tier on the den page before treating the result as available in your copy of the game. If an event is active, check its dated details separately rather than assuming the standard pool applies.
