What are Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia?
They are two Japanese expansions in the Pokémon Card Game MEGA series. The official Japanese product listing gives both a release date of August 1, 2025, and lists a suggested retail price of ¥180 per booster pack. Each pack contains five cards, inserted at random; the official listing states, 「カードはランダムに封入されています。」 (“Cards are inserted randomly,” translated from the Japanese.)
The two expansions were revealed together in June 2025. PokéBeach’s June 21, 2025 report highlighted Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex, and described full-art Item cards and Illustration Rare cards among the features.
How the two Japanese sets differ

PokéBeach reported that each Japanese set had 63 cards before secret rares. That figure is from its reveal coverage, rather than the official product listing. It does not establish the contents of any individual pack, since card collation is random.

What is in the Premium Trainer Box MEGA?
The Premium Trainer Box MEGA is a separate bundle, not a third expansion. The official product listing says it includes 20 booster packs total—10 each from Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia—and 172 cards across 51 types:
- 13 Pokémon cards
- 59 Trainer cards
- 4 Special Energy cards
- 96 Basic Energy cards
The listed accessories are a card box, coin, acrylic damage counters, a damage-counter case, and Poison and Burn markers. These are the product’s stated contents; the listing does not establish whether this bundle is better value than buying packs separately.
What does the Mega Evolution ex rule mean?
PokéBeach’s June 21 reveal report says that when a Mega Evolution Pokémon ex is Knocked Out, the opponent takes three Prize cards. That is a substantial consequence to weigh when building around one: the card may be powerful, but losing it gives the opponent an unusually large Prize-card gain compared with a Pokémon that yields fewer Prizes. Check the wording on the specific card and the current rules when applying it in a deck.

PokéBeach reported on June 23, 2025 that the English release was named Mega Evolution, was scheduled for September 26, 2025, and had 132 cards before secret rares, mostly drawn from the equivalent Japanese sets. Those details describe the reported English localization plan. They do not mean that the English and Japanese products have identical card selections, counts, or packaging; consult the English card list for the specific cards you want.
