Yes—owners of Dying Light 2: Stay Human Ultimate Edition are eligible to get Dying Light: The Beast at no extra charge. Techland’s support FAQ says the entitlement also covers players who bought the separate Ultimate Upgrade. To check your edition, look at the add-ons inside Dying Light 2; the offer does not apply to every player.
Who is eligible to get Dying Light: The Beast for free?
Techland announced that “Dying Light: The Beast will be available for no extra charge for owners of the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2 Stay Human.” PlayStation’s official FAQ likewise says the game is free only to owners of Dying Light 2: Stay Human Ultimate Edition. This is a specific edition entitlement, not a free offer for everyone who owns Dying Light 2. Techland’s announcement and PlayStation’s FAQ identify the qualifying edition.
The full Ultimate Edition qualifies
If you bought the complete Dying Light 2: Stay Human Ultimate Edition, Techland’s support FAQ says The Beast is included. The entitlement is added to the player profile; the FAQ does not say that an email receipt is required. Techland’s support FAQ also points players to the in-game add-ons as the practical way to identify their edition.
The Ultimate Upgrade qualifies too
You do not need to have bought the full Ultimate Edition bundle. Techland says the separately purchased Ultimate Upgrade also qualifies: it upgrades the game to the Ultimate Edition with access to The Beast. The edition FAQ distinguishes the full package from the upgrade and says either can qualify.

Other editions are not established as eligible
Ownership of the base game or another edition alone does not meet the eligibility rule stated by Techland and PlayStation. Do not assume a Deluxe, Standard, or other edition includes The Beast through this entitlement; the qualifying Dying Light 2 edition is Ultimate Edition or its Ultimate Upgrade.
How to check your Dying Light 2 edition
- Open Dying Light 2: Stay Human on the platform where you own it.
- Inspect the add-ons shown inside the game. Techland identifies the in-game add-ons as the indication of which edition you own.
- Look for Ultimate Edition content. If the add-ons show that you have the Ultimate Edition—or you know you purchased the Ultimate Upgrade—you are in the qualifying group described by Techland.
- Check the same platform and account for The Beast. Techland says qualifying access is added to the player profile. Its displayed support guidance says add-ons cannot be transferred between platforms, so an entitlement on one platform should not be assumed to grant access on another.
If the in-game add-ons do not make your edition clear, contact Techland support with your account and purchase details rather than relying on a storefront offer label.

When did the game release?
Dying Light: The Beast is already released. PlayStation’s official PS5 product page lists its release date as 18 September 2025. This is an existing ownership entitlement, not a newly announced launch giveaway. PlayStation’s product page also lists the game as a full entry in the series.
Does the entitlement transfer between platforms?
Techland support’s displayed guidance says add-ons cannot be transferred between platforms. That means you should check the platform and account where your qualifying Ultimate Edition or Ultimate Upgrade is registered; owning the edition on PS5, for example, should not be treated as proof of access on PC or Xbox. Techland’s platform-transfer guidance is the reference for this restriction.

What if you bought the Ultimate Upgrade after launch?
The reviewed Techland FAQ confirms that Ultimate Edition owners qualify, including owners of the separate Ultimate Upgrade, but it does not clearly establish whether an upgrade purchased after The Beast launched qualifies, whether a purchase cutoff applies, or whether regional exceptions exist. If you upgraded after 18 September 2025, or your account or region presents an exception, ask Techland support to confirm your specific entitlement before assuming the game will be added.

No. Techland announced Dying Light: The Beast Restored Land on 26 March 2026 as an enhanced version with the base game, major new content, and earlier updates and improvements. Techland says Standard Edition owners receive a free upgrade to Restored Land Edition; its support FAQ describes upgrades based on a player’s prior edition. That later edition/update is separate from the original entitlement that gives The Beast to owners of Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition. Techland’s Restored Land announcement and its support FAQ describe the distinction.
