Police Simulator: Patrol Officers has an appealing routine-to-response premise, but whether it is worth buying depends on what you want from a patrol game. Steam’s English-language user reviews lean positive, while the PlayStation Store’s rating is more mixed. Players praise the role-play and variety of duties, but repetition and bugs are recurring cautions in individual user accounts. These are platform-specific storefront signals, not one definitive cross-platform verdict.
What kind of game is Police Simulator: Patrol Officers?
Developed by Aesir Interactive and published by astragon Entertainment, Police Simulator: Patrol Officers was fully released on Steam on November 10, 2022. Its setting is fictional Brighton, where players begin with duties such as issuing citations and parking tickets, then unlock additional responsibilities, districts, and activities. It is a patrol-work simulation rather than a story-driven campaign about a real police department. Steam’s listing and the PlayStation Store description outline the premise and features.

The PlayStation listing advertises traffic accidents, emergency callouts, three districts with distinct neighborhoods, unlockable districts and cars, and both casual and simulation modes. It also lists single-player and multiplayer. Those features offer a range of activities, but a feature list alone does not establish how varied or polished they feel in play.
What do the reviews say?
| Platform and source | Snapshot rating | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Steam, English-language reviews | Mostly Positive: 74% positive from 10,506 English reviews | Valve/Steam storefront snapshot accessed in 2026; a dynamic user-review measure, not a critic score. Steam |
| PlayStation Store | 3.37 out of 5 from 21,084 ratings | PlayStation Store snapshot accessed in 2026; its population and rating scale differ from Steam’s. PlayStation Store |
These numbers are not directly comparable: one is Steam’s positive-review share for English-language reviews, and the other is a PlayStation Store score on a five-point scale. Both can change over time, so check the listing for the platform and edition you plan to use before purchasing.

What players enjoy—and what may wear thin
The appeal of role-playing a patrol
A PlayStation Store reviewer describes enjoying the role-play, vehicles, outfits, crime scenes, traffic stops, and suspect interactions. That account points to the game’s strongest draw: taking on a sequence of recognizable patrol tasks and gradually gaining access to more duties. It is an individual player’s experience, not a measured assessment of how reliably each system works.
Repetition and reported bugs
Routine patrol work can become repetitive for some players. A Metacritic user comment dated June 22, 2025 describes the game as feeling “a little repetitive” after discussing patrol duties and added content. The PlayStation Store reviewer also reports bugs and a lack of polish. These are user reports, not independent testing, and they do not establish whether a particular issue persists on every platform or build.
Rank #2

- Explore the first district and its neighborhoods
- Various duties such as car accidents, parking regulations, emergency callouts, traffic violations, wanted people and roadblocks
- Progression to unlock neighborhoods, cars and modes
- Casual and Simulation game modes
Is Police Simulator: Patrol Officers worth buying?
It is a more natural fit for players who enjoy structured simulation, role-play, and repeating everyday duties with occasional higher-stakes calls than for anyone looking primarily for a tightly scripted story or constant novelty. The storefront reviews suggest that many Steam reviewers found enough to like, while the PlayStation Store score reflects a more mixed response among its raters. Neither signal guarantees that the game will suit an individual player.
- Consider it if: you like patrol routines, traffic stops, vehicle and uniform options, and unlocking additional duties.
- Be cautious if: you need consistently varied activities or are especially sensitive to bugs and lack of polish reported by players.
- Choose by platform: check the current rating and store description for your platform. The evidence here does not establish performance parity, cross-save support, or equal bug status between PC, PS4, and PS5.
What is included, and what costs extra?
The base game should be evaluated separately from its optional add-ons. Storefront catalogs list paid content including the Highway Patrol Expansion, Contraband Expansion, Season Pass, vehicle packs, customization content, and uniforms. The PlayStation Store also lists bundles such as Gold Edition and Ultimate Duty Edition alongside its standard PS4/PS5 edition; what is included varies by platform and edition. Check the current listing’s included-content details before buying a bundle or add-on so you do not pay for content you already own. Prices and sales change, so no fixed price is quoted here.

Is the game still receiving updates?
In an official announcement labeled “Update 22.3.2 is live,” the Police Simulator team said on August 4, 2026: “With this update, our work on this project is officially complete, and it’s high time for us to pack up and head out on new operations!” The post says the update was released across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox and included missing voice-over lines, smaller fixes, and optimizations. It marks the team’s work on this installment as complete, rather than promising an ongoing development roadmap. Read the official update announcement.
