The Preservation Orb is an Epic Curio found in a chest in the garden near the Venom Daoist arena in Chapter 4’s Temple of Yellow Flower area. First defeat the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master, then return to the Court of Illumination shrine and follow the route back toward that garden.
What the Preservation Orb does
The Preservation Orb is a Curio, a type of equipment that provides a passive effect. After resurrection, it increases maximum Health, Mana, and Stamina for a “relatively long duration.” The available item descriptions do not specify the buff’s duration or the size of the increases, so there are no confirmed figures to apply to those bonuses. Its in-game flavor text is “Fortune does favor you!”
Where to find the Preservation Orb
Complete Chapter 4 by defeating the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master, then return to the Temple of Yellow Flower. The Orb is in a chest in the garden near the large tree, beyond the earlier Venom Daoist arena. The route descriptions vary in their intermediate landmarks, but agree on the Court of Illumination shrine, the arena and the garden as the useful waypoints.
Route from the Court of Illumination
- Fast-travel to the Court of Illumination Keeper’s Shrine.
- Leave the courtyard through the gateway opposite the shrine, then continue through the left gateway.
- Climb the stairs and follow the slopes. When the path slopes downward, turn left into the cave leading to the large tree.
- Look for a chest by the tree. One route description places it on a table to the tree’s left; another describes the container near statues in the garden. If you reach the Venom Daoist arena, continue through it into the garden.
Can you collect it more than once?
Gamer Guides lists the Preservation Orb’s “Hold Max” as 1. The cited location guides describe a chest pickup, not a repeatable enemy drop, so they do not establish a way to obtain another copy.
