In Baldur’s Gate 3, Protection from Evil and Good is a level 1 Abjuration spell that makes Aberrations, Celestials, Elementals, Fey, Fiends, and Undead attack the protected target with disadvantage. Its condition also grants immunity to Frightened and Possessed. Despite the spell description’s wording, the BG3 condition reference says it does not grant immunity to Charmed.
What the spell does in BG3
The spell protects one ally from attacks and powers associated with six creature types: Aberrations, Celestials, Elementals, Fey, Fiends, and Undead. Those creatures have disadvantage on attack rolls against the protected target.
The applied condition also prevents the target from becoming Frightened or Possessed. The BG3 condition reference says those immunities apply against any source, not only the six creature types named by the spell. It specifically flags the spell description’s claim of immunity to Charmed as incorrect, so do not rely on this spell to prevent Charmed.

BG3 rules are not the tabletop rules
The tabletop version described by D&D Beyond is a touch-range spell that requires concentration for up to 10 minutes. Its listed effects include protection from Charmed as well as Frightened and possession by the specified creature types; if the target is already affected, it can make a new save with advantage. Those tabletop details do not establish how the spell works in BG3: the BG3 condition reference disputes the Charmed protection and presents the condition duration differently.
For BG3 spell and condition details, see the BG3 spell reference, the BG3 condition reference, and the scroll reference. For the tabletop wording, consult D&D Beyond’s spell entry. BG3’s community reference may change as the game is updated.
