If the Routes feature is missing or its list is empty in Pokémon GO, first check that your Trainer is at least Level 7 and, for a child account, that the Parent Portal allows related features. Then open the Route tab in the Nearby menu: Routes may not appear until you are close to them, and some areas may have no approved Routes nearby.

Niantic’s Routes FAQ says Trainers must reach Level 7 to follow a Route. If your account is below that level, the feature is not yet available to you.

Review child-account permissions
For an account managed through Niantic Kids or Pokémon Trainer Central, ask the parent or guardian to check the Parent Portal’s Friends and related features settings. Niantic identifies these settings as relevant to access to related features.
Find Routes in Pokémon GO

Open the Nearby menu in Pokémon GO.

Select its Route tab. Niantic says, “Approved Routes will appear in the Route tab of the Nearby menu.”

If the list is empty, walk around the local area and check again. Niantic notes that a Route may not appear when you are not close enough to it.
Why the Route list can be empty
There may be no approved Routes close by
Routes are created by Niantic, official partners, or other Trainers. Trainer-created submissions go through moderation before they appear for other players, so local supply depends partly on submissions being approved. Niantic says some areas may have no nearby Routes while submissions are being reviewed. An empty list alone does not establish that your phone is faulty.

Use Campfire to check nearby Routes
Niantic’s Campfire guidance describes a Nearby Routes section and map that can help you inspect Routes in the area. Campfire is for viewing: to start a Route, you must be physically at its start point and select it in Pokémon GO.

Check the Route tab in Nearby while moving around the local area.

Use Campfire’s Nearby Routes map to see whether Routes are listed nearby, then go to a Route’s start point and select it in Pokémon GO to follow it.

Niantic’s published guidance for this issue identifies level eligibility, account settings, proximity, and local Route availability. It does not establish restarting or reinstalling the app, resetting GPS, or changing operating-system settings as fixes for a missing Route list.
