The event ran on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Pokémon GO’s official announcement was published May 2, 2024: “Flying-type Pokémon swoop in for Flock Together Research Day!”
What Pokémon were in the Flock Together Research Day?
PokéStop Field Research encounters
Event-themed Field Research tasks obtained by spinning PokéStop Photo Discs could reward encounters with these featured Pokémon:
- Spearow
- Doduo
- Hoothoot
- Taillow
- Rufflet
The announcement said each had an increased chance of appearing Shiny through these encounters. It did not publish a numeric Shiny rate.

Increased wild appearances
These Pokémon appeared more frequently in the wild during the event:
- Pidgey
- Murkrow
- Wingull
- Starly

The announcement did not specify a Shiny-rate increase for the wild Pokémon.
