Grow a Garden did set a record for people playing a single video game at the same time in June 2025—and Roblox says it surpassed that mark in July. The narrower claim that it broke the record for a second consecutive week, including a reported June 21 peak of 21.3 million, is not confirmed by Roblox’s official statements.
How many people played Grow a Garden at once?
Roblox reported that Grow a Garden had 21.6 million users playing simultaneously in June 2025. In its June infrastructure report, the company said the experience broke the Guinness World Records achievement for most concurrently played video game.
“Concurrent” means online and playing at the same time. It is a peak snapshot, not a count of everyone who played during a day or week, and it is not the game’s total visits.
Did it break the record again the next week?
A June 2025 Insider Gaming Forums search result gives a June 21 peak of 21.3 million and describes it as a second consecutive weekly record. That specific figure and the successive-week wording are not verified by the Roblox statements cited here. Roblox’s June report instead gives 21.6 million, and its later shareholder letter says the game went on to surpass its June record in July.

The available official chronology therefore supports a June record followed by a higher July peak—not a verified claim that the game set a new record in each of two consecutive weeks. The sources do not explain why the June figures differ.
What did Roblox report for July?
In its Q2 2025 shareholder letter filed with the SEC, Roblox said Grow a Garden established a concurrent-player record in June and surpassed it in July, reaching nearly 22 million concurrent users. That company statement establishes a later, higher milestone, but does not give a more precise July count.

Was that more than Roblox’s total number of players online?
No. The game’s peak and Roblox’s platform-wide peak measure different scopes. Roblox reported that the entire platform’s peak concurrent users rose from 13.9 million in April 2025 to 30.6 million in June. The June platform total was higher than Grow a Garden’s individual 21.6 million peak because it covered Roblox experiences overall, not just this game.
Roblox said Grow a Garden and Dress to Impress were among the experiences contributing to the increase. Its report links that growth to infrastructure capacity planning; it does not attribute the entire platform-wide rise to Grow a Garden alone.

What is Grow a Garden?
Grow a Garden is a Roblox experience centered on cultivating plants and animals. The Associated Press reported that players can harvest their bounty, sell or trade it, and steal from other players. The AP’s July 30, 2025 report describes the game as a low-stress viral hit created by a teenager.
Roblox’s shareholder letter says the experience launched on March 25, 2025, and became the platform’s top experience by spending within a month. That is a spending ranking, not a claim that it led Roblox in concurrent players for an entire month.

What the record does—and does not—tell you
- It records simultaneous play. A peak shows how many users were playing at one moment; it does not establish a daily or weekly total.
- It applies to one experience. The 21.6 million June figure is for Grow a Garden; Roblox’s 30.6 million June figure covers the platform as a whole.
- It is historical. The figures above describe June and July 2025. They do not establish how many people are playing now.
