What did S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Patch 1.0.1 fix?
The “over 650” figure is GSC’s headline count, not an exact item-by-item total reconciled in the notes. The listed work spans AI, stability and optimization, audio, balance, combat, gamepad input, characters, cutscenes, menus, interactable objects, missions, open-world behavior, player gear, voiceover, and world fixes.
AI, stability, and optimization
- NPC groups could get stuck and die near Shelter during an Emission, while mission characters could fail to reach their destination and leave interactions or progression blocked.
- Enemies could misread cover and shoot into it. The notes also cite NPC-related performance drops and possible out-of-memory crashes in crowded hubs during long sessions; GSC says it addressed more than 20 other AI issues.
- Optimization fixes covered invisible NPCs or mutants appearing in view while the player was scoping and fire effects failing to render from some camera angles.
- GSC reports approximately 100 crashes fixed, including issues involving potential memory leaks and EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION errors. These are publisher-reported counts, not an independent measurement of player outcomes.
Missions and progression blockers
The named mission fixes include Nightingale’s Hunt, Seek, and You Shall Find, There and Back Again, A Needle in a Haystack, Answers Come at a Price, Hot on the Trail, In Search of a Guide, The Side Hustle, Just Like the Good Old Days, To the Last Drop of Blood, On the Edge, A Minor Incident, In Search of Past Glory, Visions of Truth, Dangerous Visitors, Gray’s Last Hunt, The Eternal Shining, The Boundary, Escape from the Cage, Down Below, Budmo!, and A Big Score.

#1 Best Overall
Examples include missing interactions or items, objectives that could not be completed, NPCs who were stuck or absent, and cutscenes or progression triggers that failed. GSC also reports approximately 120 other issues fixed across main and side missions and encounters.
Economy, difficulty, and combat
- Weapon and armor repair costs went down. Artifact sale values rose significantly, and most mission money rewards increased by two to three times.
- On Rookie difficulty, weapon damage was reduced by 23 percent and armor durability increased by 12.5 percent. GSC also buffed armor and weapons, moderately reduced mutant damage, and reduced damage to the player’s weapon.
- The Hercules consumable no longer reduces player speed and has stronger carrying-capacity effects.
- Combat tuning changed Bloodsucker damage, protection, and out-of-combat HP regeneration. HP was moderately reduced for Controllers, Burers, Boars, and Flesh; Boar and Flesh limb damage was adjusted.
- Weapon and knife melee distances increased, and some mission items—including scanners—weighed less.
Controls, objects, and the open world
GSC increased gamepad dead zones. Other fixes addressed floating or broken movable objects, a walkthrough blocker at SIRCAA, missing elevator doors in X-11, absent fast-travel routes, loudspeaker and NPC-interaction problems, and issues selling mission items with a gamepad. The notes also list inventory and PDA input blocking around artifacts, grenade selection trouble, overlapping mission markers, flashlight behavior after loading, and stretched or missing corpse limbs. GSC reports approximately 50 other open-world issues and approximately 50 minor player-guidance anomalies addressed.
