Its planned battles paired invading alien robots against ancient beasts defending their world. The announcement targeted an App Store and Google Play release during 2015, but the available evidence does not confirm that the game launched or that it can be played today.
What was Beasts vs. Bots?
Beasts vs. Bots was presented as a real-time strategy game built for phones and tablets, with synchronous player-versus-player battles: opponents would play against each other at the same time rather than take turns. Shiver and Nexon M announced it on June 24, 2015. The announcement, reproduced by MarketScreener, described direct troop command and touch-and-gesture controls as part of bringing familiar PC RTS ideas to mobile devices.
The setting supplied the two sides of the conflict: an alien robot race invaded a world where ancient beasts had awakened to defend it. Shiver CEO and co-founder John Schappert described the intended feature set as “base building, strategic combat, individual troop control, and real-time PvP with back-to-back battles.” That was a company representative’s description of the game, not an independent review of how it played.
How were battles supposed to work?
The announced battle loop combined resource gathering, troop production, direct control and attacks on an opponent’s base. City buildings were also targets: attacking them was meant to provide resources for the battle. The release described this as synchronous PvP, but did not publish detailed rules such as match length, unit statistics, matchmaking, or how resources were distributed.

- Gather resources: collect resources during the match and attack city buildings that supplied battle resources.
- Create and command troops: build an army and direct its units in real time using mobile touch and gesture controls.
- Attack the opposing base: use the troops to destroy the opponent’s base while contesting resources and managing your own forces.
Outside matches, players were meant to develop a home base by building offensive and defensive structures and upgrading troops. The announcement did not specify the upgrade system, progression limits, or whether any parts of that progression required payment.
Which phones and platforms were announced?
Shiver and Nexon M said they planned to release Beasts vs. Bots during 2015 on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and on Google Play for Android devices. This was a planned release window in the June 2015 announcement, not confirmation that either version shipped. Did Beasts vs. Bots launch, and can you play it now?
It is not established by the available evidence whether Beasts vs. Bots launched, was canceled, or is currently playable. A 2024 Nintendo Life retrospective said its authors struggled to find evidence of a release, noted dead store links, and suggested the game may never have launched. That account is not definitive proof, and it does not establish the game’s status today. An entry on Unity Play uses the title, but it is user-created rather than an official listing, so it does not verify an official release: Unity Play user-created page.

The announcement gives a clear picture of the intended concept: simultaneous mobile PvP, real-time resource gathering, controllable troops, base attacks, and between-match construction and upgrades. It does not show how those mechanics worked in a released build, how the game was received, or whether players ever had access to it. GamesBeat also covered the unveiling in 2015, but that report does not resolve the release question: GamesBeat’s announcement coverage.
