Skyrim’s Switch 2 input-lag issue was fixed in an update dated December 19, 2025, according to Bethesda Support. The severe “unplayable” complaints came from the game’s launch period, not from a post-fix test. Bethesda has not published a measured latency figure or guaranteed that every player’s setup will feel responsive.
Is Skyrim Switch 2 input lag fixed?
Bethesda Support said: “In an update on December 19, 2025, we have fixed an issue that caused input latency for Skyrim players on the Nintendo Switch 2.” That is the clearest official status available. The statement does not identify a patch number, quantify the remaining latency, or promise that every individual setup will feel delay-free. Bethesda Support’s update

Why did players call the port unplayable?
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition launched for Nintendo Switch 2 on December 9, 2025. Nintendo’s listing describes updated visuals, improved load times, and optimized performance; those are product claims, not independent input-latency test results. Nintendo’s Switch 2 listing
In coverage published December 10, GamesRadar reported player complaints of pronounced input delay, with some describing the game as unplayable in both handheld and docked play. Those accounts document launch-period reactions, not controlled measurements. GamesRadar reported at the time that Bethesda had not publicly addressed the criticism. GamesRadar’s December 10 report

What was the Gestures Attack workaround?
The day after its initial report, GamesRadar relayed temporary advice from Bethesda Support: open Settings > Gameplay and turn off Gestures Attack while Bethesda investigated the issue. That was launch-period guidance, not the latest official status; Bethesda subsequently said the December 19 update fixed an input-latency issue. GamesRadar’s report on the temporary setting
What to do if the controls still feel delayed
If your controls still feel laggy, first make sure the game has received its available update, then check whether the delay persists in your own setup. The official fix notice does not establish a specific post-update latency or identify a separate TV, controller, or accessory fix, so avoid treating any unverified hardware change as a guaranteed solution.

Does the original Switch game-card edition avoid the issue?
Nintendo lists a physical Nintendo Switch edition of Skyrim separately from the Switch 2 Anniversary Edition. The Switch edition’s listing says it includes English voiceover only, but the pages do not establish Switch 2 compatibility, upgrade eligibility, or comparative input latency. Buying the older game card therefore cannot be recommended as a proven workaround. Nintendo’s Skyrim for Nintendo Switch listing
