There are five map fragments in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Each is collected from a roadside marker and reveals its region’s geography, but you still need to explore to uncover points of interest. The routes below cover every fragment and note the useful alternate approaches.

1. Gravesite Plain
After touching the arm to enter the expansion, head down the slope and follow the road north toward Scorched Ruins. Watch for a Curseblade dropping from an arch. The map marker is on the right side of the road before the ruins. PC Gamer’s Gravesite Plain route and GameSpot’s fragment guide identify this as the first fragment most players encounter.

2. Scadu Altus
From Highroad Cross, ride north along the road toward Shadow Keep. The fragment marker is at the fork. If you are coming from Fort of Reprimand instead, travel northwest through Moorth Ruins to reach the same fork; that approach is longer. PC Gamer’s Scadu Altus directions describe both approaches.
3. Southern Shore
Via Ellac River from Castle Front
- Start at Castle Front in Gravesite Plain. Cross Ellac Greatbridge and follow the cliff east.
- Near a soldier looking over the drop, descend the ledges. Enter the cave behind the Miranda Flower to reach Ellac River Cave.
- Follow Ellac River south. Use Torrent to jump across the rocks and pass Ellac River Downstream until you reach Cerulean Coast.
- Continue south across the field of blue flowers and gravestones. Watch for the Ghostflame Dragon. Near the far end of the road, take the short path up to the map marker.
Alternate approach from Charo’s Hidden Grave
If you are already exploring Jagged Peak, reach Charo’s Hidden Grave and descend the gravestones to Cerulean Coast West. The Southern Shore fragment covers a broader area than the coast alone: its revealed map includes Cerulean Coast, Charo’s Hidden Grave, Finger Ruins of Rhia, and Jagged Peak. 4. Ancient Ruins of Rauh
A convenient route begins at the cave north of Moorth Ruins, with a Marika statue in front of the entrance. Pass through the cave and the small poison swamp, where Gravebird enemies appear, to enter the Ancient Ruins of Rauh. The fragment marker is just outside Temple Town Ruins. You can also enter the upper region from Shadow Keep’s western rampart, but the Moorth cave route leads directly toward the fragment. PC Gamer’s Rauh directions cover both routes.
5. The Abyss
The Abyss fragment takes the most concealed route. From the path at Shadow Keep’s entrance, reach the courtyard with flaming boats and descend to the flooded area. Follow the route through a waterfall to a room with a red painting. A hidden wall beside the painting opens the way to a coffin that transports you to Castle Watering Hole.
From Castle Watering Hole, head south and use Torrent to cross the cliffs, then enter Darklight Catacombs. Pass through the catacombs and defeat its boss to emerge in Abyssal Woods.
