Sony’s currently announced end date is November 2, 2026; after that, the program will no longer be accessible. Existing members can still redeem eligible, unexpired Points before then.
What can PlayStation Stars members still do?
Joining and earning are over, but the program has not yet reached its announced end date. If you are an existing member, you may redeem Points that have not expired through your personal Rewards Catalog while PlayStation Stars remains available. Sony says Points have no cash redemption value.
To check your Points balance, open the PS App and view your player profile. Sony’s redemption path is PS App > Player Profile > PlayStation Stars > Rewards Catalog. The catalog is personal and can change over time, so check the app for what is available to your account rather than relying on a list of specific rewards.

Sony announced the wind-down on PlayStation.Blog on May 21, 2025. In the post, Grace Chen, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s vice president of Network Advertising, Loyalty & Licensed Merchandise, said the company had decided to “refocus our efforts” and wind down the current version. Sony said it was evaluating what it learned, but did not announce a replacement program or launch date.

Why you should not cancel just to leave the program
If you cancel on or after May 21, 2025, Sony says you immediately forfeit your remaining Points and cannot rejoin this version of PlayStation Stars. If you want to use eligible Points, keep your membership active and redeem them before they expire or the program ends.
Points and Digital Collectibles have different rules
Points
Points can be redeemed only for items shown in your personal Rewards Catalog; they cannot be exchanged for cash. Sony’s Canadian Terms of Service say the catalog may include digital games, add-ons, in-game virtual currency, PlayStation-exclusive collectibles, and PSN Wallet funds. Availability varies, so the catalog in your PS App account is the relevant source.

Sony’s Canadian terms say Points earned before October 24, 2024 expire at the end of the month 24 months after the date they appear in the account balance. The US FAQ also makes redemption subject to the applicable expiration date. Check your account for the expiration date on your Points and redeem them in time. Terms may differ by region; use the rules that apply to your PlayStation account.
Digital Collectibles
Sony says members keep their Digital Collectibles even after canceling and after PlayStation Stars ends. Its terms say members and canceled members can access the Display Case and their collectibles until the termination date. This differs from Points, which can expire or be forfeited when a member cancels.

What existing members should do
- Open the PS App and check your player profile for your Points balance and expiration dates.
- Go to PlayStation Stars > Rewards Catalog and review the rewards currently available to your account.
- Redeem eligible Points before their displayed expiration date. Do not cancel if you want to retain Points for redemption.
- If you joined before May 21, 2025 but never accepted the Terms update effective October 24, 2024, accept the updated Terms in the PS App. Sony says this can restore access to unexpired Points and participation in any still-active parts before the program ends.
When will PlayStation Stars end completely?
Sony’s currently published schedule says PlayStation Stars will end on November 2, 2026, and will no longer be accessible after that date. This is a future date, so members should check Sony’s PlayStation Stars FAQ for any schedule updates. The FAQ is for the US; members in other regions should also consult the terms that apply to their account.
