Trading resumed when Ubisoft published the results on November 21; the episode is over, and the announcements do not establish that the delay was caused by a sale, privatization, or accounting problem.
What Ubisoft announced—and what it did not
In its November 13, 2025 announcement, Ubisoft said it was postponing publication of its first-half fiscal 2025-26 results. It asked Euronext to suspend trading in Ubisoft shares and specified bonds from the market opening on November 14 until the results were published “in the coming days.” Ubisoft said it would inform the market when trading would restart.
The notice gave no reason for the postponement. It confirmed a delay and a requested trading halt, not what prompted either one.

Ubisoft described the original postponement as: “Ubisoft announces the postponement of the release of its results for the first half of fiscal year 2025-26.” The later timetable and release brought the reporting disruption to a close.

What the results and Tencent announcement clarified
Ubisoft’s account of its business
In the November 21 results release, CEO Yves Guillemot said net bookings were above guidance, citing stronger-than-expected partnerships. Ubisoft reported softer trends for Rainbow Six Siege alongside stronger performance across the rest of its catalog; it said Assassin’s Creed exceeded company expectations and The Division 2 continued to perform strongly. These are company-reported results and management’s assessment, not independent verification.
The company also said it was making progress in addressing its fixed cost base and moving toward an operating model organized around Creative Houses. The results release described the Tencent transaction as nearing completion after conditions precedent had been satisfied, but did not identify that transaction—or the operating changes—as the reason for the November 13 delay.

The Vantage Studios investment
Ubisoft announced on November 21 that Tencent’s €1.16 billion investment in Vantage Studios had closed. Ubisoft said Tencent held a 26.32% economic interest in the subsidiary, while Vantage remained exclusively controlled and consolidated by Ubisoft. That is a minority investment in a Ubisoft subsidiary, not an acquisition of Ubisoft itself.
Guillemot described the completed arrangement as a “strategic partnership with Tencent” under which Tencent “now becomes a minority shareholder in our new subsidiary, Vantage Studios.” Ubisoft said the proceeds would strengthen its financial position and support its transformation.

Did the halt mean Ubisoft was being sold or taken private?
No such conclusion follows from the official notices. Engadget’s November 13 coverage discussed a possible major announcement, including a sale or Ubisoft becoming private again, and mentioned reports of earlier takeover interest. Those were possibilities, not a reason confirmed by Ubisoft. The November 21 announcements document the results release and the investment in Vantage Studios, but do not say either caused the earlier postponement.
So the confirmed account is narrower: Ubisoft delayed its results, asked for a temporary halt in trading, later set a publication deadline, and released the figures and Vantage transaction announcement on November 21. The cause of the initial delay was not disclosed in those announcements.

Is Ubisoft trading still halted?
No. This was a historical 2025 event, not a current suspension. Ubisoft said trading would resume no later than the November 21, 2025 market opening, alongside the results deadline. For later company reporting dates, Ubisoft’s Investor Center lists subsequent reporting and, as of October 8, 2026, scheduled H1 sales and earnings for November 19, 2026; that calendar may change.
