Sony’s PlayStation 30th-anniversary watch is a mechanical timepiece made by Anicorn, not a gaming gadget. Its original-PlayStation symbols, controller-inspired hands and NFC-linked Memory Capsule give it a clear appeal to collectors and design-minded fans as well as gamers. What is the PlayStation mechanical watch?
The First PlayStation Limited Edition Mechanical Watch is a collaboration between Sony Interactive Entertainment and watchmaker Anicorn, also identified as On Vic Corporation Ltd. PlayStation presents it as a 30th-anniversary collectible and a gift for creators, collectors and gamers. It is a conventional wristwatch with a mechanical movement, paired with design details and a digital collectible feature tied to PlayStation history.
PlayStation lists the release date as 19 December 2025 and a suggested retail price of $780 USD. It names Anicorn’s official online store as the main sales channel, describing the store as English-language and internationally shipping. Why it may appeal beyond gamers
A familiar design translated into a watch
The dial and strap feature PlayStation’s △〇×□ symbols. The hour and minute hands draw on the controller’s Start and Select buttons, turning recognizable console details into functional watch elements rather than simply printing a logo on the dial. Anicorn describes the symbols and hands as a visual homage to the controller.

A collectible link to PlayStation memory
The watch comes with a card styled after a PlayStation memory card. Tapping it with an NFC-capable device opens a commemorative Memory Board, also described as a name board. This adds a digital keepsake to the physical watch; it does not change how the mechanical movement works.
The intended audience is broader than players
PlayStation’s own Japanese product copy addresses “creators, collectors, and gamers” who grew up pressing the POWER button. That is the brand’s positioning, not evidence of measured demand from any particular audience. The design can also make sense to someone drawn to industrial design or the original PlayStation era, even if they no longer play games.

Availability and what to check before buying
Anicorn describes the edition as limited to 600 pieces and currently marks it sold out. Stock status can change, so check the official listing for a restock or other availability before making plans to buy. The exact model was not confirmed in an Amazon listing; a generic search for mechanical watches should not be mistaken for an offer for this PlayStation edition.
PlayStation’s collection page also features a separate Play Symbol design. That is a distinct product type in the collaboration; the collection page does not establish that it shares this limited edition’s movement or other specifications. Confirm the model name and listing before comparing or purchasing.
