The Gamescom 2018 preview of Spyro Reignited Trilogy included Spyro: Year of the Dragon’s Sunny Villa. Activision’s event post identified Sunny Villa as one of three playable levels—one from each game in the collection—so it establishes the preview’s setting, not a detailed account of an entire play session.
What Year of the Dragon gameplay did the Gamescom preview show?
In an August 24, 2018 post, Activision said attendees could play levels from all three games in the trilogy, naming Stone Hill, Idol Springs, and Sunny Villa. Sunny Villa is the Year of the Dragon level named in that preview. The post does not provide a level-by-level walkthrough or a direct comparison with the original release. What defines the platforming?
Activision describes the collection as a 3D platform adventure built around gliding, flying, rolling, and exploring fantasy worlds. These are the broad actions behind Spyro’s movement through its levels; the Gamescom post names Sunny Villa but does not document particular routes, challenges, or player impressions from the level.
What is included in the trilogy?
The collection remakes Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. Activision describes the trilogy as containing more than 100 levels in total—not more than 100 levels in Year of the Dragon alone. Its feature notes include updated controls, full analog-stick support, smoother camera handling, new lighting, recreated cinematics, and enhanced reward sequences. Where can you play it, and what should Switch players know?
Activision lists PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Nintendo’s US digital listing supports TV, tabletop, and handheld modes and currently reports a 15.1 GB file size. That figure is a storefront listing detail and may vary with updates or by region; it should not be treated as a universal install-size guarantee.
Activision’s support FAQ says some content must be downloaded. Once all levels have been downloaded, the game can be played offline. The FAQ also says autosave operates at certain checkpoints and that players can choose “Retro” or “Reignited” control options in the pause-menu controls settings. Activision’s support FAQ

Activision says applicable PC systems can run the game in 4K with an uncapped framerate, while PS4 Pro and Xbox One X receive enhanced resolution. These are vendor feature notes, not a controlled comparison of current image quality, frame pacing, or input response across platforms.
