- Listen to Underworld rumors in Makal’s Gambling Parlor.
- Speak with Aila’s contact in the Crimson Dawn restricted area to advance the Expert Intel.
- Once the Intel chain and New Tricks are complete, begin the Expert Quest from the parlor.
Complete the quest
- Steal a Code Sequencer. Travel to the Imperial facility in Southern Falls and take the Code Sequencer.
- Meet Aila at the Imperial Forward Base. The walkthrough’s suggested approach is to climb the cliff to the right of the base and grapple across.
- Reach the rooftop antenna. After meeting Aila, get to the roof and attach the device to the antenna.
- Disable the defenses. Follow the objective marker to the terminal and use it to shut down the base’s defenses.
- Return to Mirogana. Leave the base and go back to Makal’s Gambling Parlor to meet Aila’s contact and finish the quest.
Can you complete it without stealth?
Yes. Game8’s quest-specific walkthrough says there is no stealth requirement, so you can sneak through the Imperial base or fight your way through. Xbox Wire’s January 13, 2026 overview describes broader updates that gave players more freedom in some sections previously requiring stealth; it does not establish a specific change to this quest. See Xbox Wire’s update overview.
What The Slicer quest unlocks
Completing the quest unlocks Aila Bren as an Expert and grants the Slicing Kit, a gadget used to connect to advanced devices without ordinary terminals. Aila’s associated skills cover the Slicing Kit, blaster, smoke bombs, Nix, and enemy detection, according to the walkthrough.

A Game8 guide dated September 18, 2024 reported that in game version 1.1.2, Advanced Slicing Practice could remain marked incomplete in the journal even after being resolved. The guide said the issue did not block story progression or Slicer abilities, and that completing the Intel offered no reward. That report is specific to version 1.1.2; whether the issue still occurs in the October 2026 build is not established. See Game8’s Advanced Slicing Practice guide.
