Steam also says, “Even if you fall outside of the refund rules we’ve described, you can submit a request and we’ll take a look at it.” That means an out-of-policy request can be reviewed; it does not mean Steam will approve it.
Are Helldivers 2 players being refunded after two hours?
The official sources available establish Steam’s general policy and its willingness to review requests outside the standard terms, but they do not confirm specific Helldivers 2 refunds above two hours. The game’s Steam listing identifies it as a third-person shooter; it does not document refund outcomes.

A Steam Community discussion dated May 3, 2024 includes an individual’s claim that some requests were approved well beyond 20 hours. That is an old anecdote, not verified evidence of current practice or a Helldivers 2-specific exception. Without verified cases and their circumstances, the headline’s reported approvals should not be treated as an established policy change.
How to request a refund after the limit
- Sign in to Steam and open Steam Help’s purchase support.
- Open Purchases, select Helldivers 2, and choose the issue that best describes your situation.
- Submit the refund request with a brief, accurate explanation of why you are asking. Do not assume that a particular explanation guarantees an exception.
Steam’s How To Request A Refund page describes this process and repeats the standard terms. If you are over either limit, you can still submit a request, but the decision is not assured.

Who handles a Steam purchase?
Arrowhead Game Studios says it cannot process refunds because it does not handle transactions for the game. Its refund support article, dated September 17, 2026 in the search result, directs Steam purchasers to Steam Support’s Help and Purchases flow.
