Best Buy’s reported in-store restock date was July 17, 2025, the same day Nintendo released Donkey Kong Bananza for Switch 2. HotHardware reported on July 15 that Best Buy’s website stated: “All Best Buy stores will have limited quantities in stock on July 17.” The report did not give a time for when stores would make the consoles available. Why was the restock tied to Donkey Kong Bananza?
Donkey Kong Bananza launched exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on July 17, 2025, the same day as Best Buy’s reported restock. Nintendo lists the game’s file size as 9 GB and says it supports TV, tabletop, and handheld play. Those details describe the game; they do not indicate console stock. Is there a later Switch 2 bundle with the game?
Yes. In an announcement dated May 12, 2026, Nintendo described a limited-time Switch 2 “Choose Your Game” bundle with a suggested retail price of $499.99 and a digital game choice that includes Donkey Kong Bananza. Nintendo listed the game’s regular price as $69.99 and said the offer would be available while supplies last, with dates varying by retailer.
