Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is a cooperative action roguelike built around short, randomized runs and four playable Turtles. The Turtles set out to rescue Master Splinter after Shredder and the Foot Clan kidnap him. The game sends players through New York locations in a fast-paced roguelike structure, where room layouts, power-ups and boss modifiers vary between runs. Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael each have distinct abilities; upgrades let players shape a run into different builds. Switch review
In a review published September 6, 2024, MeriStation praised the roguelike gameplay and said co-op improved the experience. The reviewer also reported frame-rate drops, errors and possible crashes during co-op, plus text-layout problems in handheld mode and Spanish localization issues. Those are observations from that review at that time; they do not establish whether later updates fixed the problems.

Does Splintered Fate have local and online co-op?
Yes, but the listed modes differ by platform. Nintendo describes one-to-four-player play on one system and one-to-four-player online play for Switch. Its store information indicates that online play requires Nintendo Switch Online. Steam lists online co-op, shared/split-screen co-op and cross-platform multiplayer. Do not assume that controls, online requirements or cross-play behavior are identical across editions; check the listing for the platform you plan to use.
Which platforms can you play it on?
The Switch edition released July 17, 2024, and Steam lists November 6, 2024 as the PC release date. Apple’s App Store also lists the game for Apple devices. Super Evil Megacorp documented digital PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 launches and announced physical Deluxe Editions for Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and Xbox One. Store availability can change, so confirm the current regional catalogue and the exact platform before buying.

Apple’s App Store listing covers its Apple-device version. The publisher’s Steam Community updates document the console launch and physical-edition announcement. Nintendo lists a 1.3 GB file size for Switch and 3 GB for Switch 2, and says the game is supported on Switch 2 with behavior consistent with Nintendo Switch; check Nintendo’s current listing in case those details change.
Which edition should you choose?
- Choose based on your hardware first. The available listings and features differ by platform, so verify the exact edition and multiplayer options before purchasing.
- For Switch online co-op, account for the Nintendo Switch Online requirement shown on Nintendo’s listing. Its listing also specifies one-to-four-player local play on one system.
- If you want a boxed copy, look for the Splintered Fate physical Deluxe Edition on the console you own. The publisher announced those editions, but confirm current stock and package contents with the retailer; the announcement alone does not establish which extras a particular copy includes.
- Compare current regional store listings. Prices and catalogue availability are time-sensitive, so no fixed price comparison applies here.
Is Splintered Fate worth playing?
It is a reasonable pick if you want a repeatable action roguelike with Turtle-specific abilities and the option to play with friends. The strongest positive evidence is Steam’s user-review aggregate and MeriStation’s praise for the gameplay and co-op on Switch. The Switch review’s dated technical and localization complaints are worth weighing if that is your platform, but they should not be treated as proof of current behavior without newer platform-specific evidence. There is no single cross-platform critic consensus established by these sources.
