Yes—Shift Up has officially announced the Stellar Blade sequel, titled Stellar Blade: Blood Rain. The game is in early development. Shift Up has not yet announced its platforms or release date.

What is the Stellar Blade sequel called?

The official title is Stellar Blade: Blood Rain. “Stellar Blade 2” remains a common way to refer to the sequel, but it is not the announced title. Shift Up revealed the game on June 6, 2026, at Summer Game Fest. Its official announcement describes the reveal trailer as 3 minutes and 30 seconds of in-game footage.

What has Shift Up confirmed about the game?

  • Development: Shift Up says the project is in early development.
  • Story: The sequel takes place after the events of the original game and introduces Evie as a new protagonist in an expanded world.
  • Publisher: Shift Up says it will publish the game itself.

When will Stellar Blade: Blood Rain come out, and what platforms will it be on?

Shift Up has not announced a release date, launch window, or platform lineup. The company says it will share the release schedule and platforms later. No specific console or PC version should be treated as confirmed until Shift Up names it.

The original Stellar Blade launched on PS5 and PC, but that does not establish where Blood Rain will be available. Shift Up’s Q1 2026 investor presentation identifies the predecessor as a PS5 and PC action-adventure game published by Sony Interactive Entertainment; it does not confirm the sequel’s platforms or publisher. In May 2026, Shift Up said it wanted the next title to reach a broad global audience from day one, but that goal is not confirmation of a simultaneous launch on particular systems, as reported by GameSpot.

How does the latest development update fit with the announcement?

In May 2026, Shift Up told investors that development of the next Stellar Blade title was progressing smoothly and on track to meet its quality standards. The company also described a move to a first-party service model for the title. The June announcement subsequently characterized Blood Rain as being in early development, so that is the clearest public description of its status following the title reveal. The May update was quoted by GameSpot.

Shift Up’s September 2026 announcement of Stellar Blade Complete Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 concerns the original game, not Blood Rain. It does not confirm a Switch 2 version or physical edition of the sequel.
