What Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick Has Said About Nintendo Switch 2

Zelnick’s Switch 2 comments grew more specific in 2025. Take-Two later named PGA TOUR 2K25 and WWE 2K26 as Switch 2 releases, but did not establish the full four-game lineup.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick’s comments moved from an expectation of future Nintendo support in February 2025 to a report in August that four titles had been announced for Switch 2. Take-Two later named two Switch 2 releases in its 2026 results: PGA TOUR 2K25 and WWE 2K26. The August transcript passage does not identify all four titles.

What did Zelnick say about Switch 2?

His comments became more specific over time. In February 2025, he said Take-Two expected to support Nintendo Switch, but had no specific announcement. In August, he said four titles had been announced for Switch 2 and outlined a general strategy of reaching consumers across viable platforms.

Date What Zelnick said What it established
February 2025 “So, while we have nothing specific to report, we actually would fully expect to support Switch.” An expectation of support, not a named Switch 2 game commitment. February 2025 earnings-call transcript.
August 2025 “In general, we aim to be wherever the consumer is, and most of our releases end up on all platforms that have any kind of consumer attention.” A broad platform approach, alongside his statement that four Switch 2 titles had been announced. August 2025 earnings-call transcript.

The February answer came after an analyst asked how Take-Two might expand its relationship with Nintendo following Switch 2’s reveal. It should be read as an early, general expectation rather than a contradiction of the more specific August update.

What does “four titles” mean?

In August 2025, Zelnick said Take-Two had announced four titles for Switch 2. The cited transcript passage does not name those games. Take-Two’s later company release names two Switch 2 releases for 2026—PGA TOUR 2K25 and WWE 2K26—but that does not establish that they are the complete four-title lineup.

What is Take-Two’s platform strategy?

Zelnick described a general aim to release games on platforms where consumers are, while allowing for release timing to vary. In August 2025, he acknowledged that labels may stage a launch to focus first on core platforms, adding: “But generally speaking, in the fullness of time, our titles find their way to all the viable platforms.”

Why Switch 2 is relevant to the comments

Nintendo launched Switch 2 on June 5, 2025, describing it as the successor to Nintendo Switch. Nintendo says the system has a larger, more responsive screen, magnetic Joy-Con controllers, and more powerful processing and graphics performance. It supports exclusive Switch 2 games as well as compatible original Switch games; Nintendo does not say that every original Switch game is compatible. Its launch announcement also noted plans from other publishers to bring a wide variety of titles to the system. See Nintendo’s launch announcement and Nintendo’s Switch 2 overview.
