How much did Supercell revenue and profit fall in 2023?
In its February 14, 2024 results commentary, Supercell reported revenue of €1.7 billion for 2023, down 4.2% from 2022. It reported EBITDA of €580 million, down 8.2%. Yle independently reported the same EBITDA figure and decline.
The $1.82 billion figure comes from School World News’ conversion of the company’s €1.698 billion revenue figure. Supercell’s own headline result is stated in euros, so the dollar amount should be understood as that outlet’s rendering, not a separate company-reported figure.
What does “profits dip 8%” mean?
The 8.2% decline is in EBITDA: earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization. It is not a reported net-income decline. Calling it simply “profit” can obscure which financial measure is being compared; Supercell’s post and Yle identify the measure as EBITDA.

How did the results compare with 2022?

The year-over-year percentages are Supercell’s reported comparisons. The figures are rounded as presented in the company’s annual-results commentary.
Why did Supercell’s results decline?
Supercell said its games declined during the first half of 2023 while the mobile-games market overall continued to decline. The company also said each quarter of 2023 was better than the preceding quarter for its live games, citing Brawl Stars’ player growth as an example. That is Supercell’s account of the year, not an independently established explanation of the financial change.

The company-wide results do not establish how much revenue or profit came from any individual game, so they do not support attributing the decline to a particular title.
Why are later 2023 figures different?
In a 2025 post covering its 2024 results, Supercell retrospectively listed 2023 revenue before deferral of €1.6 billion and EBITDA before deferral of €492 million. The company said it had changed the presentation to show results “without deferral.” Those figures use a different presentation basis from the €1.7 billion revenue and €580 million EBITDA in the February 2024 commentary, and should not be treated as direct replacements without that qualification.

What else did Supercell report?
Supercell said it paid €110 million in corporate taxes in Finland for the 2023 financial year. CEO Ilkka Paananen described the financial results as a means to support the company’s work, saying: “We see them as something that enables us to do more of what we’re passionate about.”
