Super Mario Party Jamboree: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV is the full 2024 party game plus a Switch 2-exclusive game-show mode built around mouse controls, the system microphone, HD rumble 2, and optional camera features. That makes it the complete choice for newcomers with a Switch 2; owners of the original Switch game can instead buy the $19.99 U.S. upgrade pack if Jamboree TV’s new activities are what they want.
What the Switch 2 edition includes
This is not a standalone Jamboree TV expansion that replaces the original game. Nintendo describes the package as the original Super Mario Party Jamboree plus Jamboree TV and features exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2. The original game’s boards and activities remain part of the edition, while Jamboree TV adds a separate set of ways to play.
Nintendo lists 20 new minigames using Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, the system microphone, HD rumble 2, and, in some cases, a compatible USB-C camera. It also says 78 minigames from the original game can be played in Jamboree TV. These additions broaden the kinds of party interactions available, rather than establishing that the original game has been replaced or substantially reworked.
How Jamboree TV changes the party
Mouse, microphone, and rumble
Jamboree TV leans into Switch 2 hardware: some activities use the Joy-Con 2 as a mouse, some use the console’s built-in microphone, and others use HD rumble 2. That gives groups different control styles to try, but the official feature list does not establish that each new minigame uses every feature. Check the individual game’s requirements if a particular control method is important to your group.
#1 Best Overall
- Get ready for the biggest party yet in Super Mario Party Jamboree for Nintendo Switch. From running through merry-go-rounds to motion-control minigolf, this jamboree is jam-packed with over 110 minigames – the most of any Mario Party game to date!
- With seven boards in all, you can go with the flow in Goomba Lagoon, search for stars in Rainbow Galleria, revisit the classics of Western Land and Mario’s Rainbow Castle from past titles and more.
- Race across the party board in Koopathlon, a series-first 20-player online competition to see who can rack up the highest scores in minigames like the fast-paced Lane Change. The higher your score in each round, the faster you’ll get to the goal. Koopathlon is just one of a slew of additional modes – there’s something for every kind of Mario Party player to enjoy!
CameraPlay
With a compatible USB-C camera, CameraPlay can bring players’ faces into game scenes, and selected minigames use camera-captured movement. The camera is an optional accessory, not a requirement for the full game or for all Jamboree TV content. Without one, camera-dependent video and minigame features are unavailable.
Resolution and hardware limits
Nintendo’s UK product page lists WQHD (1440p) in TV mode and Full HD (1080p) in handheld and tabletop modes, but explicitly scopes the 1440p TV-mode specification to Jamboree TV. It should not be read as a blanket resolution upgrade for every mode in the package. Nintendo’s published specification also does not, by itself, establish broader visual or performance improvements.
Rank #2
- This jam-packed jamboree just got even bigger—only on the Nintendo Switch 2 system!
- With 22 playable characters, Pro Rules for more serious competition, and a local single player mode, there’s something for every kind of partygoer!
- Get hands-on with Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive features in Carnival Coaster and Bowser Live
- Take the fun online in Koopathlon and Bowser Kaboom Squad
- Get moving in Rhythm Kitchen, Toad’s Item Factory, and Paratroopa Flight School
The Switch 2 edition is playable only on Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo says that inserting its physical or virtual game card into an original Nintendo Switch provides access to the Nintendo Switch version, without Switch 2-exclusive features. The edition therefore does not turn an original Switch into a way to play Jamboree TV.
Playing locally with friends
GameShare is a limited option
Nintendo says a Switch 2 owner can share part of the game locally with Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 users through GameShare. The shared content is limited to one board—Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party—Party Rules, and 30 selected minigames. Nintendo specifies that this GameShare play is handheld-only and does not work with GameShare through GameChat. It is a way to access a defined slice together, not a substitute for everyone owning the full edition to play all its content.

Plan around your group’s setup
If your group mainly wants the original Jamboree boards and activities, the original Switch game remains a separate option. For Jamboree TV, plan on a Switch 2. Camera features additionally require a compatible USB-C camera; mouse and microphone activities are separate features and do not make the camera a general requirement.
Which version should you buy?
| Reader | Best-fit option | What to weigh |
|---|---|---|
| New to the game and own a Switch 2 | Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV | It includes the original game and the Switch 2-exclusive additions. Nintendo lists the regular U.S. price as $79.99. |
| Already own the original Switch game and own a Switch 2 | Upgrade pack | Nintendo Support lists the U.S. upgrade pack at $19.99 through the Switch 2 eShop and Nintendo Store. It is a digital add-on, so you do not need to rebuy the full game to get the Switch 2 edition. |
| Interested only in the original game, or without a Switch 2 | Original Nintendo Switch game | Nintendo lists its regular U.S. price as $59.99. It does not include Jamboree TV’s Switch 2-exclusive features. |
Those are Nintendo-listed regular U.S. prices, not a live comparison of retailer offers; availability and prices may differ by region or change over time. For existing owners, the practical question is whether the new mode’s controls and camera activities are worth the add-on cost for the people you play with. For newcomers, the full edition is the direct route to both the original game and Jamboree TV.

Review verdict
The Switch 2 edition’s clearest appeal is its breadth: the original party game stays in the package, while Jamboree TV adds hardware-specific activities that give groups new ways to interact. The upgrade is easier to justify if your group is curious about those modes and already owns the Switch game; the camera is a bonus for camera-dependent play, not a gate to the whole edition.
Independent reception cited here is limited to one review: Nintendo Life reviewer PJ O’Reilly awarded the North American release 9/10 on July 23, 2025, describing it as family-friendly entertainment and highlighting its varied boards and activities. O’Reilly noted rounds can run to around 90 minutes; that is one reviewer’s observation, not a guaranteed session length or a critical consensus. The original game also had strong early commercial performance: Nintendo Co., Ltd. reported more than 5.6 million units in global sell-through during its first eleven weeks after its October 17, 2024 release, outpacing the first-eleven-week pace of Super Mario Party and Mario Party Superstars on Switch. That figure concerns the original game, not the Switch 2 edition.
