Minecraft’s Tetris DLC connects classic 2D Tetris to a 3D dungeon adventure: play a round, then explore a dungeon shaped by the blocks left behind. The goal is to recover stolen Tetriminos while dealing with puzzles, traps, loot, and enemies. It is a separate experience from the earlier Tetris Add-on, which adds themed content to Minecraft worlds.
How the Tetris DLC turns a puzzle round into a dungeon
The loop begins with classic 2D Tetris. After the Tetriminos are stolen, the remaining block grid becomes a dungeon to explore. The shapes you used, the routes you created, and the lines you cleared help determine the traps, loot, and surprises you encounter. Minecraft describes the experience as a “dungeon crawling adventure.” Minecraft’s July 30, 2024 announcement outlines this connection between the puzzle board and the dungeon.
That makes the Tetris round part of the adventure’s setup, rather than the whole experience: play Tetris, then navigate a 3D space influenced by that round to retrieve the missing shapes.
What else is included
The DLC also has three modes for classic 2D Tetris: Marathon, Sprint, and Ultra. Minecraft says multiplayer is supported across the gameplay modes. The announcement does not specify player counts or provide additional mode rules, so check the current Marketplace listing for details before buying.

How this differs from the 2024 Tetris Add-on
Minecraft released another Tetris-themed product shortly before the dungeon DLC: the Tetris Add-on, announced June 6, 2024. It adds content to existing or new Minecraft worlds rather than turning a Tetris round into a dungeon. Its announced features include falling Tetriminos, colorful blocks, mining resources, line-clearing tools, Tetrimonsters, and Tetrimino mounts. Minecraft’s announcement for the Tetris Add-on describes that world-building content.

Access, platform, and price
Minecraft directs players to the Marketplace for the DLC. The relevant official Marketplace event page states that Marketplace items require Minecraft: Bedrock Edition with Minecraft Marketplace, sold separately. That page dates to July 2024, so it does not establish current availability for every device or platform; check the DLC’s current Marketplace listing and confirm that your edition and device can access it before purchasing.
