NYT Connections puzzle #302 is the board from Monday, April 8, 2024. Below are spoiler-safe clues first, followed by the four category answers and all 16 words. If you meant the April 8, 2025 puzzle, that is #667, a different board.
Hints for Connections #302
Connections asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four that share a connection. The New York Times Help Center notes that words can seem to fit more than one group, so look for the strongest four-word set before locking in a guess.
- Yellow: Think of a very short span of time.
- Green: These words can describe a disagreement or fight.
- Blue: Each can be used informally to mean zero.
- Purple: These are accessories associated with a familiar fictional mascot.
The archive characterizes #302 as an easy, direct category match; the main challenge is separating words that could plausibly overlap. That is a qualitative description, not an official NYT difficulty rating or a solve-rate statistic.

Why the date can be confusing
April 8, 2024 is Connections #302. April 8, 2025 was #667 and had a different set of categories and words; using the year alongside the puzzle number avoids mixing the two boards.

Playing Connections and finding older puzzles
The New York Times Help Center says Connections is free to play across platforms. It describes the full archive, which includes puzzles dating back to June 12, 2023, as an All Access and Games subscriber feature. Access details can change; check the NYT Connections help page for current terms. The Help Center also says archive progress requires an NYT account; archived puzzles affect some statistics but do not count toward streaks.
