Spoiler warning: This is an archived guide to Connections puzzle #885 for Wednesday, November 12, 2025—not today’s puzzle. Read the hints first, then scroll to the solution section when you’re ready to see the answers.

Hints for Connections #885

Try these clues in order. They point to each category without revealing the four answer words.

  1. One group consists of four sports, each with a four-letter name.
  2. One group contains informal words for a foolish person.
  3. One group is made up of familiar initialisms or acronyms, including expressions used online or in marketing.
  4. One group consists of everyday Spanish words.

Why the grid is tricky

All 16 entries have four letters, and many end in “O.” That visual pattern can make unrelated words seem connected: for example, COMO may look like an acronym, while BOZO, DODO, DOPE, and YO-YO belong together by meaning. The shared ending is a distraction; the categories depend on how the words are used.
