The current Steam listing includes Chapters 1–5. In his Summer 2026 newsletter, creator Toby Fox said he believes Chapter 6 can release in 2027, but that is a forecast, not a confirmed date.
When did DELTARUNE Chapters 3 and 4 come out?
Chapters 3 and 4 were released together with Chapters 1 and 2 on June 5, 2025. Fox’s official announcement named PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 as platforms for that release. The announcement also set the game’s price at $24.99 and said later chapters would arrive as free updates for owners. Fox’s Chapters 1–4 release announcement
That means headlines about a “Chapter 3 & 4 update” should be read as referring to the earlier release milestone, not an upcoming launch. The latest Steam listing says Chapters 1–5 are available now, with more planned as free updates. DELTARUNE on Steam
What is the current update on Chapter 6?
Fox’s Summer 2026 newsletter says Chapter 5 had released about a month earlier. He believes Chapter 6 can arrive in 2027, but neither the newsletter nor Steam listing gives a specific release date. Fox says Chapter 6 will release on its own rather than being bundled with another chapter. Summer 2026 newsletter

“I believe we will be able to release Chapter 6 in 2027.”
That wording makes 2027 an expectation, not a firm commitment. The Steam page likewise currently gives 2027 as the target for Chapter 6 and describes later chapters as free updates to the paid game; timing can still change.
What has Fox said about Chapter 6’s story and development?
A shorter chapter focused on one part of the story
Fox described Chapter 6 as “a shorter, straightforward chapter that focuses on one aspect of the story.” He also wrote: “From Chapter 6 onward, there are no more wacky silly adventures, and you will begin to see the results of the setup that has been made so far.” Both statements come from his Summer 2026 newsletter.
Structural work comes before the rough full draft
Fox said he had recently written more sequences for the last third of the chapter and rearranged rooms to fit a new structure. After those adjustments are tied together, the team expects to play a rough draft from beginning to end. If the chapter does not require major restructuring, polishing the boss and cutscenes is among the main work that remains. This describes a project still in development; it does not establish a completion date.

The official June 2025 release announcement listed PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PS4, and PS5. Fox’s Chapter 5 release newsletter says existing owners receive the new chapter automatically, and lists those same platforms. Chapter 5 release newsletter
The Steam listing currently shows DELTARUNE at $24.99 USD and the soundtrack at $14.99 USD. These are prices shown on that listing when accessed on October 8, 2026; storefront prices may vary by region or change. The soundtrack is a separate digital storefront product, not part of the game’s chapter-update promise.
What else did Fox mention?
Fox noted that Fangamer had released new Chapter 5 merchandise and that more items were planned, mentioning “a Queen plush or something” as a possibility. That comment does not confirm that a Queen plush is currently available. The newsletter archive collects Fox’s official DELTARUNE and UNDERTALE updates: newsletter archive.
