- Improved mapmaker interface makes it easier to create multi-player maps and share and play them online
- Innovative new meet and assist yourself lets players team up with past and future selves, to be their own backup
Will your PC run it?
The project’s current minimum requirements are:
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: GTX 760
- Processor: Intel Atom C2750 at 2.40 GHz
- Storage: 35 GB of free disk space
These are the minimums stated on the live project page; check that page again before installing because Early Access requirements can change.
Is this an official new TimeSplitters game?
No. Rewind is a fan project, not a new official franchise release. On its About page, the team says Crytek gave the project permission and provided original assets, but that Rewind does not use those assets; the team says it rebuilt them from scratch. The project history also says Mapmaker was removed from the initial build because the team lacked the programming resources to complete it.

How Rewind differs from the official PlayStation release
The US PlayStation Store has a separate listing for the original TimeSplitters on PS4 and PS5. It lists an August 20, 2024 release date, a $9.99 purchase option, or access through PlayStation Plus Premium. The listing describes a single-player campaign, 1–4 player multiplayer, and a map editor. These details apply to that original game listing, not Rewind; storefront availability and prices can differ outside the United States or change over time. The Store also has separate listings for TimeSplitters 2 and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect.
| Option | Game and platform | Cost listed | Status |

Does the Xbox PC backward-compatibility release include TimeSplitters?
No. In a July 22, 2026 Xbox Wire announcement, Xbox named four original Xbox games for its initial Backward Compatibility release on PC: BLiNX: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live & Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, and Fuzion Frenzy. TimeSplitters was not among them, so that announcement did not make the series playable on PC.
