You will also need suitable underwater gear for the timed maze. This guide reflects community reference information updated through September 25, 2026; requirements and item values may change with game updates.
What you need before you start
- Access: The standard route requires the full Vertigo Bestiary and The Depths Key.
- Relics: One Abyssal Enchant Relic and one Hexed Enchant Relic.
- Currency: C$750,000 to buy the rod at the maze endpoint. Acquiring and appraising the relics can add to your total preparation cost.
- Underwater equipment: Advanced Diving Gear, Super Flippers, Tidebreaker, and/or Water Bubble are recommended for the timed maze. Basic Diving Gear can work if you complete it quickly.
The standard Vertigo requirement is described as completing the full Bestiary, but the area reference notes that traded fish may affect whether you need to catch every entry yourself. The exact edge case is not specified, so use the in-game gate as the final check.
How to get to The Depths
- Enter Vertigo through a Strange Whirlpool.
- Complete the Vertigo Bestiary and obtain The Depths Key. The normal gate path requires both before you can enter The Depths.
- Travel to The Depths with both relic variants and the currency for the rod. A current Fisch guide also summarizes the preparation as a 100% Vertigo Bestiary and the key.
Place both relics to open the maze
- In The Depths, place the Abyssal Enchant Relic on the pedestal near Aspicientis.
- Climb the central waterfall opposite the Aspicientis statue to reach the second pedestal.
- Place the Hexed Enchant Relic on that pedestal. The placements open a hidden stone passage into the underwater maze.
Bring both relics and complete the activation in one visit: the reference says a relic left on its pedestal can disappear if you leave with only one placed. The maze entrance is client-sided, so activate it on the account that intends to enter and buy the rod; another player placing the relics does not unlock your entrance.
Cross the maze and buy the Rod of the Depths
Follow the passage through the underwater maze to its endpoint, an air pocket with a statue. The statue sells the rod for C$750,000. Its listed purchase location is X: 1689.9, Y: -902.4, Z: 1437.7.

The listed passive summons a ghost or stand that gives you a random fish from your current location every third catch. The same wiki page lists a 30% Abyssal mutation chance and a 1-in-10 chance for the bonus fish to be an Enchant Relic. These are version-sensitive community-wiki figures, not independently checked developer notes.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not head for the relic maze before unlocking The Depths through the standard gate path.
- Do not leave after placing just one relic; the reference warns it can disappear.
- Do not expect a friend to open your maze for you. Place both relics on the account that needs access.
- Do not treat Advanced Diving Gear as a strict requirement: Basic Diving Gear may suffice with a fast run, although better traversal gear is recommended.
Sources and version note
Acquisition instructions and item values here are based primarily on community-maintained Fisch Wiki references updated September 25, 2026, with the high-level preparation list corroborated by a second community guide. The official Roblox game listing did not expose rod-specific acquisition details. This guide therefore reflects community documentation, not an official developer confirmation; check the current in-game gate and relic behavior if a game update changes the route.
