Pokémon TCG Pocket, a mobile game for collecting and battling with Pokémon cards, launched for iPhone on October 30, 2024. It is now described as available on the official Pokémon TCG Pocket site. The current US App Store listing says players can open two booster packs a day at no cost, arrange cards in binders and display boards, and battle; the game is free-to-start, with optional in-app purchases.
What Pokémon TCG Pocket is
Pokémon TCG Pocket is a digital card-collecting and battling game developed by Creatures Inc. and DeNA Co., Ltd., according to the official game site. It brings Pokémon cards to a mobile app rather than supplying physical cards. The game includes nostalgic artwork and new digital cards exclusive to Pocket; those digital cards are not physical merchandise.
How collecting cards works
The official site and the current US App Store listing describe two booster packs players can open each day at no cost. The listing also highlights immersive cards. Players can organize their collection in binders and display boards, and the listing says eligible cards can be shared with in-game friends. Trading is available for certain cards, not necessarily every card.
How battles and sharing work
The current US App Store listing describes casual battles and ranked matches, as well as card sharing and limited trading. These are details from the listing as accessed October 8, 2026; app features can change with updates. The original launch coverage focused on daily packs, card displays and casual battles, so current listing features should not automatically be read as launch-day features.

iPhone requirements and price
On the US App Store, the listing supports iPhone and specifies iOS 15.0 or later. That is an operating-system requirement, not a recommendation to buy a particular iPhone model. Check the live App Store listing for the requirement and availability in your region, since storefront details can differ or change.
Apple labels the app “Free · In-App Purchases,” while the official site describes it as “Free-to-start; optional in-game purchases available.” This means the app can be started without paying, but it does not mean every item or feature is free.

Launch date and what has changed in coverage
Ryan Christoffel reported for 9to5Mac on October 30, 2024, that Pokémon TCG Pocket was available for iPhone. That launch report described the initial pitch: two free daily packs, immersive cards, collection displays, and casual battles. The official site currently says the game is available now, and Apple’s current US listing includes features such as ranked matches, sharing and trading. Those current details are not evidence that each feature was present on launch day.
Apple’s US listing also says the game has players in 150 countries and regions, but provides no publication year for that figure. It is therefore an undated claim on the current listing, not a dated measure of the game’s reach.
