Mega Lucario weaknesses
As a Fighting/Steel-type raid boss, Mega Lucario takes super-effective damage from Fighting, Fire, and Ground attacks. Pokémon GO Hub Database lists each type as dealing 160% damage to it.
Build your team around attacks of those types, rather than choosing a Pokémon only because its own type looks favorable. A Pokémon with a strong super-effective move is the relevant counter; the best available option depends on your roster and which moves you can access.
Best counters for the Mega Lucario raid
Pokémonism’s matchup-specific list, updated September 28, 2026, ranks counters using boss-specific damage and estimated total damage output (DPS/TDO). Its order is a recommendation from that scoring method, not a universal ranking for every roster or move set.

If you do not have the listed legacy moves, the same counter guide’s regular-moveset view includes these alternatives among its top results:
- Primal Groudon: Mud Shot + Earthquake.
- Mega Garchomp: Mud Shot + Earthquake.
- Mega Charizard Y: Fire Spin + Overheat.
The ordering changes with move access and scoring view. Use the strongest available Fighting-, Fire-, or Ground-type attacks on Pokémon you can bring; do not treat the ranking as a guaranteed best team for every player.

Mega Lucario raid catch CP and weather boost
Pokémon GO Hub Database lists a level-20 raid catch CP of 2186. At level 25, the listed weather-boosted catch CP is 2733 in Cloudy or Snow weather. These figures describe the encounter’s catch CP, not a recommended level for your counters.

Leek Duck lists a Mega Lucario Mega Raid return from July 13, 2026, at 6 a.m. local time until July 14, 2026, at 10 p.m. local time. That event has passed; it does not establish availability on October 8, 2026. Check the live in-game raid rotation for the current schedule.
