To complete the Atlantean Storm quest in Fisch, accept it from Captain Neptune on his pirate boat near the Grand Reef whirlpools, catch the required fish in those whirlpools, then return to Neptune to claim your reward. Use the in-game Bestiary to track what remains: current sources disagree about the quest’s exact fish total and the quantities of its rewards.
Where to find Captain Neptune and the Atlantean Storm
Travel to Grand Reef and look for the ring of whirlpools around the upper part of the area. The fan-maintained Fisch Wiki gives the storm location as X -3662, Y 131, Z 670. Captain Neptune stands on a pirate boat nearby; his listed coordinates are X -3825, Y 134, Z 580.
Do not confuse Neptune’s coordinates with the Grand Reef GPS marker listed by Pro Game Guides: X -3576, Y 151, Z 523. That marker is for the area, not the quest-giver’s boat.
How to complete the quest
- Travel to Grand Reef and locate the upper-area whirlpools.
- Find Captain Neptune on his pirate boat and interact with him to accept the quest. His recorded line is: “Complete the bestiary of Atlantean Storm to claim a reward, though I reckon ye don’t have what it takes!”
- Fish inside the storm whirlpools and use the Bestiary to check which entries you still need.
- Once the Bestiary shows the quest complete, return to Neptune’s boat and speak with him again to claim the reward.
The whirlpools matter: the storm fish are caught there, not just anywhere in Grand Reef. Destructoid’s guide also describes fishing in the whirlpools, completing the Bestiary, and returning to the quest giver.

Atlantean Storm fish: bait and conditions
The following checklist reproduces the eight standard fish listed in Pro Game Guides’ January 18, 2025 guide. The corresponding bait, weather, and season entries also appear in the Fisch Wiki’s broader list. All eight are reported as catchable at any time of day; bait and environmental conditions differ by species.
| Fish | Rarity | Bait | Reported time | Weather | Season |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tempest Ray | Uncommon | Seaweed (spelled “Sea Weed” in Pro Game Guides) | Any | Windy | Winter |
| Abyss Snapper | Uncommon | Fish Head | Any | Foggy | Autumn |
| Vortex Barracuda | Unusual | Minnow | Any | Clear | Summer |
| Whirlpool Marlin | Unusual | Squid | Any | Rain | Spring |
| Typhoon Tuna | Rare | Fish Head | Any | Rain | Winter |
| Cyclone Mako | Rare | Fish Head | Any | Windy | Spring |
| Maelstorm Shark | Legendary | Truffle Worm | Any | Foggy | Autumn |
| Void Angler | Mythical | Truffle Worm | Any | Clear | Summer |
How many fish are required?
Older guides describe eight permanent fish, but the Fisch Wiki page updated September 25, 2026 lists a broader set of entries, including limited fish and other listings. The sources do not establish whether every entry on that expanded list is required for Neptune’s quest. Check the in-game Bestiary for the completion state shown in your current version rather than assuming a fixed total from an older guide.

What does the quest reward?
The recorded reward types are the Drifter’s Tale Bobber, Kraken Tentacle bait, and Hangman’s Hook bait. Pro Game Guides reports four Hangman’s Hook and five Kraken Tentacle, but that guide predates later updates and the current wiki does not state quantities. Confirm the exact amounts in-game when you claim the reward.
No particular rod, enchant, or build is established as a quest requirement by these sources; the practical checklist is the storm location, the fish and their listed conditions, and Neptune’s return interaction.
