The old Buried City guitar puzzle is no longer required: Embark removed it in Headwinds update 1.13.0 and made the Acoustic Guitar purchasable from Shani. The Shaker is a separate field-craft item, with scavenging, Shani, quest rewards, and crafting listed as ways to get one.
How to get the Acoustic Guitar
Buy the Acoustic Guitar from Shani. Embark’s Headwinds 1.13.0 patch notes, dated January 27, 2026, say the Buried City musical puzzle was removed and the guitar is now purchasable at Shani’s.
The current Acoustic Guitar item reference lists a price of 70 and stock of one per day. Those vendor details are from a community-maintained reference, not the official patch notes, so check Shani’s live inventory for the current price and availability. The reference lists no current quest reward and no crafting recipe.
How to get the Shaker
Embark introduced the Shaker as a field-craft item in its Shrouded Sky 1.17.0 patch notes, dated February 24, 2026. The Shaker item reference lists four acquisition routes:

Shaker crafting recipe
The listed recipe is one Canister and seven Assorted Seeds, and crafting requires the Traveling Tinkerer skill. The recipe and skill requirement come from the community-maintained item reference; check the in-game crafting menu for current requirements.

If you want the guitar, start with Shani rather than searching Buried City for the removed puzzle. For the Shaker, use whichever listed route suits your raid finds, quest progress, vendor stock, and access to the crafting skill.

The guitar and Shaker are musical, social gadgets, not combat upgrades. Their melodies can attract nearby Raiders to join in with other instruments, but playing can also draw ARC attention. Playing prevents some two-handed actions, according to the item references, so treat a performance as a moment of exposure rather than a way to improve combat capability.
