For the most crate-focused start on Dam Battlegrounds, check Control Tower’s upper floors—especially the top level—if you can handle heavy player traffic. For a quieter opening, begin at South Swamp Outpost and work toward the center later. Weapon-crate locations are possibilities, not guaranteed spawns, so treat every route as a search plan rather than a sure run.
How weapon crate spawns work on Dam
Marked locations indicate places worth checking; they do not mean a weapon crate will appear there in every raid. If a spot is empty, search nearby rooms and adjacent structures before moving on. A current interactive map lists 48 Weapon Case markers on Dam Battlegrounds, but that is the tracker’s inventory, not an official per-raid spawn count or a guarantee that all markers are active in a given match. (Arc Raiders Guide & Wiki interactive map)
Where to check for weapon crates
Control Tower
The upper floors are a high-value opening, with the top level singled out as especially worth checking. A separate fan map guide reports five potential crate points on the top level and a crate in the key-locked Dam Surveillance Room; treat those as that guide’s reported locations, not developer-confirmed guarantees. (Dam Battlegrounds map guide) The tower is also high traffic: players moving through its stairwells can give away their position, and you may encounter others drawn to the same loot. (All Things How’s Dam Battlegrounds route guide)
Hydroponics Dome Complex
Hydroponics is another strong crate-search option, with many possible points reported across the dome complex. Expect competition: the location is described as heavily contested and high traffic. (All Things How’s Dam Battlegrounds route guide; Dam Battlegrounds map guide)

South Swamp Outpost
Structures and domes around South Swamp Outpost are worth checking for weapon crates. It is described as a lower-traffic place to start, making it a practical choice when survival matters more than rushing toward the busiest locations. (All Things How’s Dam Battlegrounds route guide; Dam Battlegrounds map guide)
Other places to add to a sweep
- Small Creek: A useful follow-up after Control Tower; the route guide describes it as moderately trafficked and potentially less contested than the tower interior. (All Things How’s Dam Battlegrounds route guide)
- The Breach: Check along the corridor for multiple possible points, but expect high traffic. (All Things How’s Dam Battlegrounds route guide)
- Floodgates: A possible crate stop with high traffic and ambush risk. (All Things How’s Dam Battlegrounds route guide)
- Research & Administration: A map guide reports weapon cases on the second floor, making the northern complex an alternative to the central hotspots. (Dam Battlegrounds map guide)
Choose a route for your raid
Higher-risk loop: prioritize crate opportunities
- Search Control Tower’s upper levels, including the top level.
- Move to Small Creek.
- Continue through The Breach and Floodgates.
- Finish at Hydroponics Dome Complex.
This loop links several reported crate areas, but it also takes you through high-traffic locations. The route is a guide’s suggested pattern, not a tested optimal route or a promise of crates. (All Things How’s Dam Battlegrounds route guide)

Lower-profile sweep: trade density for breathing room
Start at South Swamp Outpost and work north through the quieter outskirts. Enter central locations later only if the raid conditions make it worthwhile. This approach is described as less crate-dense but more survivable, with better prospects for reaching extraction; it is not a guarantee of a quiet run. (All Things How’s Dam Battlegrounds route guide)
Adapt the plan to your spawn and extraction
Use your starting position, nearby player activity, exposed crossings, and extraction options to decide whether to continue toward a hotspot or turn away. One map guide recommends planning to finish near a usable extraction. These are practical route considerations, not evidence that one path is best for every raid. (Dam Battlegrounds map guide)

Should you detour to a Field Depot?
A Field Depot is a separate loot objective, not a weapon-crate spawn. The route guide describes six fixed depots on Dam: find a Field Crate, carry it to the machine inside a depot, then open the adjacent reward compartment. The interactive map currently lists six Field Depot markers and 54 Field Crate markers; those are tracker counts, not official guarantees that every marker will be available in each raid. (All Things How’s Dam Battlegrounds route guide; Arc Raiders Guide & Wiki interactive map)
Carrying a Field Crate slows your movement and disables your weapons until you drop it. Clear the area first or have squadmates cover you before attempting the delivery. (All Things How’s Dam Battlegrounds route guide)

How certain are these locations?
The route advice comes from a gameplay guide by Pallav Pathak, updated November 1, 2025. The interactive map exposes marker inventories, but its markers do not establish a complete spawn table or confirm that every listed point can appear in every raid. The reported Control Tower top-floor points and Dam Surveillance Room crate come from a separate fan map guide. No official source cited here confirms the full current set of Dam weapon-crate spawns.
