The Cryoshock Serpent is caught in the Cryoshock Cellar during the Fischmas 2025 seasonal encounter. The community guides say you need the Fischmas 2 Bestiary completed except for the Serpent, a Fischmas rod with a Festive Relic enchantment, and Frost Moon access. You also need to open the cellar with two essences and an Everfrost Key, then land the catch before the event window closes. Availability is a major caveat: Fisch Wiki marked the seasonal content unavailable on September 25, 2026, so check whether Fisch has reactivated it before gathering the prerequisites.
Check whether the encounter is available
The route described by community guides is tied to Fischmas 2025. Fisch Wiki lists that event as running from December 14, 2025, through January 4, 2026, and its Maelstrom page, updated September 25, 2026, says the item and associated seasonal content are no longer available, obtainable, or accessible. As of October 8, 2026, the cited information therefore points to the route being unavailable. That is a dated status report, not a guarantee about future updates; check Fisch in-game or current community information for reactivation.
The step-by-step details below come from fan-maintained Fisch Wiki and Fandom pages, not official game documentation. Treat the instructions as community-guide information, especially if a later update changes event access or item requirements.
Prepare the required items and unlocks
- Complete the Fischmas 2 Bestiary, except for the Cryoshock Serpent. The cellar guide clarifies that the target itself is excluded from the full-bestiary prerequisite.
- Bring a Fischmas rod with the Festive Relic enchantment. The guides identify this rod setup as a catch requirement. During the event, a Festive Relic was listed at 2,500 Bells in an igloo; that is a historical event price, not a current offer.
- Unlock Frost Moon access. The cellar route is described as requiring a Frost Moon event, which in turn involves activating three levers around the Northstar Castle area.
- Collect the access items: Essence of Winter, Essence of Starfrost, and an Everfrost Key. The guides describe using these to open the cellar door.
Reach the Cryoshock Cellar
- Wait for or activate Frost Moon access. The community route describes the Frost Moon as necessary to open the vault route.
- Find and activate all three levers around Northstar Castle. The guide says the hatch route depends on the levers. If the entrance will not open, check whether one was missed.
- Enter through the hatch and follow the route to the cellar door. Bring the required access items before proceeding so you are ready to open the gate.
- Use Essence of Winter and Essence of Starfrost at the serpent-head fixture, then use the Everfrost Key on the door. If the fixture rejects the essences, the guide identifies a missed lever as a likely cause. The cellar page says the essences and key could be reused to open the gate.
Catch the Serpent before the event ends
Once inside, fish for the Cryoshock Serpent with the required enchanted Fischmas rod. The guides describe the encounter as difficult: the Serpent moves erratically, and the catch has a 90% progress-speed penalty, according to the Fisch Wiki page updated September 25, 2026. The sources do not provide a measured catch duration or success rate, so allow time for a challenging reel-in rather than relying on a specific estimate.

The event window matters as much as the reel. The cellar guide warns that if daytime arrives or Frost Moon ends before you finish, the Serpent can kill your character. Start only when you have enough event time to attempt the catch, and do not assume you can leave the fight and resume it after the window closes. The fish page describes the Serpent as a one-time catch per player.

After catching the Serpent, a short ice-platform parkour route is described as leading to the Maelstrom rod. Fisch Wiki lists its price as 3,250,000 C$. This is a separate post-catch reward route, not a requirement for catching the Serpent, and the same page marked the seasonal item unavailable in its September 25, 2026 update.
