Short answer: a Season Pass is worth considering if you want several of its specific chapter-themed cosmetics. It is not a way to unlock new gameplay: Focus Entertainment says gameplay additions arrive in free updates. This article distinguishes the original Season Pass from Season Pass II and Season Pass 3, which are separate products.
What the Season Passes include
These passes are cosmetic DLC, not gameplay expansions. The original pass was presented in Focus Entertainment’s August 27, 2024 roadmap as a way to customize characters with chapter-themed items. One example was the planned Dark Angels content: colour schemes, heraldry, a weapon skin, and a Bulwark Champion skin. Focus said weapons, modes, and maps in that roadmap were intended for free patches accessible to everyone.

| Original Season Pass | The 2024 roadmap describes chapter-based customization. The three-pass Steam bundle listing describes access to 27 DLCs and more than 250 cosmetics; that is the bundle’s combined total, not a count for the original pass alone. Steam bundle listing |
| Season Pass II | Announced by Focus Entertainment on September 4, 2025, as nine DLCs with chapter-themed Champion skins, armor pieces, and heraldry. Its first two packs were Black Templars Champion and Imperial Fists Cosmetic packs. Focus described a Bulwark Champion skin and Power Sword skin in the former, and more than 40 cosmetics across seven Imperial Fists successor chapters in the latter. Focus Entertainment announcement |
| Season Pass 3 | The Steam listing describes ten cosmetic DLCs. Steam listing |
How to decide whether it is worth the price
- Identify the exact pass and what you already own. The original pass, Season Pass II, and Season Pass 3 are not interchangeable. Check your game edition and DLC library to avoid paying twice for content already included.
- Pick the cosmetics you would actually use. The value is in specific chapter identities and class-specific Champion looks. If you only want one chapter pack, buying that DLC on its own may suit you better. Focus’s announcements and Warhammer Community’s Patch 14 article confirm that cosmetic packs are available separately as well as through pass ownership.
- Compare the checkout totals for your platform. In the October 2026 US-dollar Steam listing snapshot, Season Pass II and Season Pass 3 were each listed at $39.99. Those are Steam prices for the US storefront at that time, not universal prices; console pricing, regional currency, taxes, and discounts can differ. Compare the current pass price with the current prices of only the packs you intend to buy.
- Leave free gameplay out of the value calculation. Focus’s Year 2 roadmap lists gameplay additions such as Operations, PvP arenas and modes, the Techmarine, weapons, enemies, bosses, and progression mechanics as free additions. Patch 14 likewise separates free updates from DLC cosmetics.
Buy a pass, choose individual packs, or skip?
- Buy a pass if several included cosmetics appeal to you and their combined individual prices at your storefront would make the pass worthwhile.
- Buy individual packs if you want a narrow selection, such as one chapter’s cosmetics, and the total for those packs is lower than the pass price.
- Skip paid DLC if your main goal is new missions, weapons, modes, or other gameplay. Those additions are not the pass’s selling point; Focus has described gameplay updates as free.
There is no universal break-even number: the answer depends on which pass, which cosmetics you value, what you already own, and the live price on your platform. The evidence here supports a conditional verdict based on announced content and listed prices, not a claim about hands-on play.
