It is no longer playable: HoYoverse described the Golden Apple Archipelago as a limited-time area and said it would no longer be accessible after Version 2.8 ended (HoYoverse’s Version 2.8 update details, July 13, 2022). This historical walkthrough covers the main route through Part 1 and the confirmed puzzle types in Parts 2 and 3.
How the domain puzzles work
The main mechanic is Gaze of the Deep. Interact with the mechanism, then adjust the projected image’s camera view, angle, and zoom until it lines up with the structure in the scene. A center indicator and a click sound signal correct placement, according to GameWith’s quest guide. Make small adjustments and watch how the projected edges meet the target; the exact camera position can depend on the view, so use the on-screen alignment cue rather than treating a screenshot angle as a universal coordinate.

Elevators connect different floors. If an elevator is elsewhere, a nearby side platform can summon it to your level. Check for that platform when the route appears to stop at a shaft.
Part 1: route through the first volume
The following sequence follows the documented route in Pro Game Guides’ Part 1 walkthrough, updated July 18, 2022. Optional chests are called out along the way.

- Rebuild the first stairway. Use Gaze of the Deep to align the projected structure and connect the stairway, then use the next mechanism to form the following set of stairs.
- Descend by elevator. Ride the elevator down and use Gaze of the Deep to align the pathway ahead.
- Continue past the Hilichurls. Follow the route through the encounters and solve the paired Gaze of the Deep puzzles in sequence. Adjust each view until its projection connects the broken structure shown in front of you.
- Pause at the chest area. Collect the Common Chest on the route if you want the available side loot before continuing.
- Repair the stairs and entrance bridge. The first-volume puzzle sequence includes another stair repair followed by the entrance bridge. For the bridge, connect the structure using the left Gaze mechanism first, then the right one.
- Open the chest route. Connect the two stairs with the relevant Gaze mechanisms to reach the chest area. The documented route includes a Precious Chest containing a Nightwatch Contract; collect it before leaving if you want the quest’s listed chest loot.
- Help Leon leave the cellar. Repair the metal pipes by aligning the perspective mechanisms along their route, then continue through the passage.
- Connect the wooden ladder. Use the final documented Part 1 Gaze puzzle to align the wooden ladder and proceed toward the remainder of the quest.
The walkthrough identifies three chests in Part 1, including the Common Chest and the Precious Chest with the Nightwatch Contract. Some camera adjustments are described relative to minimum or maximum zoom and small directional changes; the accompanying views are references, not fixed coordinates that apply to every player’s screen.
What happens in Parts 2 and 3
Part 2: stairs, a broken path, and pipes
Volume 2 involves rotating castle structures to repair stairs and a broken path. Later, three Gaze of the Deep mechanisms must be adjusted to connect metal pipes and help progress through the domain. The available guide description confirms these puzzle categories but does not establish a complete ordered route for the volume.

Part 3: Toy Castle pieces and shadow cubes
Volume 3 involves finding two Toy Castle pieces and aligning floating shadow cubes with a glowing floor. Those are the documented puzzle goals; a full step-by-step route is not established here.

At the time of Version 2.8, the quest followed completion of The Golden Apple Vacation Returns!, all three parts of As the Courtyard in Spring Once Appeared, and the Blazin’ Trails! event quest. The in-game clock prompt asked players to wait until the next day between 6:00 and 24:00. These were event-era progression requirements, not current unlock instructions.
