What is Celeste 64?
Celeste 64: Fragments of the Mountain brings Madeline and Celeste Mountain into a compact 3D platformer. The original Celeste developers made it as a sixth-anniversary project in 2024; their repository says it was put together in under two weeks. The team describes the quick project as experimental, like a game jam, rather than a large standalone sequel. The developers’ repository also notes that the project uses libraries mostly intended for 2D games.

How it connects to Mario 64
The comparison is about its 3D platforming inspiration and presentation. Game Developer’s January 30, 2024 coverage calls it a free 3D spin-off and identifies Super Mario 64 as an influence. It is not a Nintendo game, a Mario product, or an official crossover. Game Developer’s release coverage provides the launch context.

The official Maddy Makes Games itch.io listing offers the game free. As listed on October 8, 2026, the current version is 1.1.1, with downloads for Windows x64, Linux x64, and Linux arm64. The page was last updated September 16, 2026, and marks older Windows and Linux packages as old; choose the current 1.1.1 entry for your platform rather than an older file.
