Is the Deluxe upgrade worth it?
On the US PlayStation Store snapshot, the standalone Deluxe upgrade was listed at $10.00, while the Standard and Digital Deluxe editions were listed at $59.99 and $69.99 respectively. That makes the upgrade a direct alternative if you already own Standard on that storefront. Decide based on whether you want the listed equipment, staff, Wind Chimes, and soundtrack; the listing does not establish a gameplay requirement for them.
What was the pre-order bonus?
The historical pre-order reward was the Trailblazer’s Scarlet Gourd, granted after the game launched. Game Science’s June 8, 2024 FAQ said, “The scarlet gourd that comes with the pre-order is a nice bonus, but it is also accessible through regular in-game activities.” The bonus was therefore not exclusive to people who pre-ordered. Can you still get the Scarlet Gourd?
Yes. Game Science said the gourd can also be obtained through regular in-game activities, so the original pre-order offer is not the only way to get it. The publisher’s announcement does not specify the activity or unlock steps. Game Science’s announcement.
Are the physical Deluxe and Collector’s editions disc-based?
Game Science announced physical Deluxe and Collector’s editions that included a Digital Deluxe activation code. The FAQ said overseas purchases received a Steam code, while JD.com purchases received a WeGame code. It did not establish that every package contains a game disc, so confirm the contents of a specific retailer listing before purchase. The FAQ also said delivery by the original launch date could not be guaranteed. These are launch-era details, not confirmation of current stock or shipping availability. How to choose an edition now
- Check your platform and region. Store prices and offers differ; compare the live listing for the platform you use rather than treating one region’s price as universal.
- Compare Standard, Deluxe, and the upgrade. If you already own Standard, check whether your platform offers a separate Deluxe upgrade and compare its current cost with the extras you want.
- Assess the extras. Deluxe adds the listed staff, equipment, Wind Chimes, and selected soundtrack; choose it if those items are worth the premium to you.
- Verify physical-package contents. For a collectible edition, confirm current availability and whether the listing provides a code, a disc, or both. The publisher’s announcement supports code-based packages, not a blanket claim that packages are disc editions.
- Do not pay extra for the old pre-order reward alone. Game Science said the Scarlet Gourd is also obtainable through gameplay.
