Use the N-Ray Scanner to trace the wiring and confirm the three switches that connect to the door beside Exemplar Foxworth; the switches do not need to be activated in a particular order.
Where to find the switch puzzle
The puzzle appears in the N-Ray Range during the main quest “On the Trail of the Traitor,” while you are searching for Victor Clemens. The switches control a door deeper in the range, near Exemplar Foxworth.
How to reach the N-Ray Scanner
The main entrance to the N-Ray Range is sealed. Enter the smaller building to the right of that entrance and go through the hatch in its floor. Follow the rooms and vents inside the range until you find the N-Ray Scanner.
How to solve the switch panel
- Equip the N-Ray Scanner at the switch panel to reveal the concealed wiring.
- Trace the wires toward the door beside Exemplar Foxworth.
- Activate the bottom-left switch, the second switch in the top row, and the bottom-right switch.
Those are the three switches connected to the door circuit. You can activate them in any order; the important part is selecting the correct trio.

If the door does not open
Check the wiring again with the scanner and make sure you have selected the three positions relative to the panel: bottom-left, top-row second, and bottom-right. Numbered switch labels can vary between guides and screenshots, so use the panel’s layout and visible wiring rather than relying on a numbered sequence.
