Magic: The Gathering’s three headline Universes Beyond crossovers in 2026 are Marvel Super Heroes, The Hobbit, and Star Trek. Their tabletop release dates are June 26, August 14, and November 13, respectively. The Hobbit and Star Trek also have separate, earlier MTG Arena dates, so digital availability does not mean the physical set is out.

What is coming to Magic in 2026?
Wizards’ 2025 announcement described an unusually packed slate of seven Magic sets for 2026, including these three crossovers. The article focuses on the three named Universes Beyond releases, rather than treating the seven-set slate as seven crossover products. Wizards’ 2026 slate announcement

What’s in the Star Trek set?
Star Trek brings characters, stories, and ships from across 60 years of the franchise into Magic. Wizards’ collecting guide identifies three product set codes: TRK for the main set, TRC for Star Trek Commander, and SDS for stardates cards. The guide says main-set cards are legal in all formats; Commander and stardates cards are legal in Commander, Legacy, and Vintage, while individual cards may also be legal in formats where they were already available. See the official collecting guide for card-by-card details.

Special card treatments
The collecting guide highlights signed headliner cards, stardates reprints, LCARS frames, classic Enterprise cards, and borderless scene cards. It reports seven signed headliner cards, with approximately 250 copies of each, randomly inserted into Collector Boosters. Those are publisher-reported print and insertion details, not pack-level odds for finding a specific card. A premium booster should not be treated as a guaranteed way to get a particular treatment.

How to choose a format
- New to Magic: Choose the Star Trek Beginner Box for its tutorial decks and play aids, or look at Marvel’s Beginner Box and Welcome Decks. Product inclusions vary by set; check the official product page before buying.
- Want to play Commander: Start with one of Star Trek’s four standard Commander decks, or choose a Marvel Commander Deck. A Collector’s Edition is a collector-focused alternative, not a necessary starting point for gameplay.
- Have a draft group: Play Boosters are the booster format to consider; Star Trek also lists a dedicated Draft Night product. The corresponding Marvel page lists Draft Night as well.
- Collecting special treatments: Collector Boosters are the relevant Star Trek option for its premium treatments, but no specific card is guaranteed in a pack.
- Interested in the story or display: The Hobbit is centered on Bilbo’s journey, while Marvel and Star Trek draw from their broader franchises. Marvel and Star Trek list Scene Boxes for themed collecting.
