What changed on the Fortnite OG Season 3 map?
Lucky Landing returned
Epic announced the return of Lucky Landing, describing the point of interest as a small town with ornate architecture, narrow streets and cherry blossoms. GamesRadar placed it south of Fatal Fields; Epic’s announcement did not specify its compass direction. Epic Games’ announcement and GamesRadar’s guide cover the location.
The meteor became part of the season’s story
Epic also announced a mysterious meteor in the sky, saying it would emerge later in the season and move closer over time. The company described it as the giant rock associated with the beginning of Fortnite Battle Royale’s story. GamesRadar also reported meteorite fragments.
Which items were available at launch?
Epic marked these three weapons as live at the start of OG Season 3:

They were launch additions, unlike the items Epic said players could look for throughout the season.
Which items were announced for later in the season?
Epic’s “Throughout the Season” list named five planned additions. The announcement did not present them as all available on launch day.
- Remote Explosive
- Heavy Shotgun
- Port-A-Fort
- Light Machine Gun
- Clingers
Which Season 2 items carried over?
Epic separately published the following carry-over list for the start of Season 3. These items were not identified as new Season 3 additions.
- Weapons: Assault Rifle, Burst Assault Rifle, Scoped Assault Rifle, Minigun, Pistol, Revolver, Suppressed Pistol, Suppressed Submachine Gun, Tactical Submachine Gun, Pump Shotgun, Tactical Shotgun, Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle, Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle, Crossbow, Grenade Launcher and Rocket Launcher.
- Utility and explosives: Boogie Bomb, Bushes, Cozy Campfire, Grenade, Impulse Grenade, Smoke Grenade, Port-A-Bunker, Damage Trap and the non-throwable Launch Pad.
- Healing and shields: Bandages, Med Kits, Shield Potions, Small Shield Potions, Slurp Juice and Chug Jug.
What other features and modes did Epic announce?
Supply Llamas, vending machines and traps
Supply Llamas and vending machines were announced as available around the Island from day one. In Zero Build, players could gather materials to use at vending machines, and traps could be placed on the landscape.

OG 50v50
Epic also brought back OG 50v50, with two teams of 50. Its announced availability window ended April 14, 2025, at 9 AM ET; it was a limited-time mode, not a claim about current availability.

Epic described a 45-tier OG Pass with rewards inspired by outfits that originally debuted in the shop during Chapter 1 Season 3. XP earned in any Fortnite experience could unlock free and premium rewards. The premium track could be accessed by purchasing the pass for 1,000 V-Bucks or through Fortnite Crew, according to Epic’s March 2025 announcement. These are historical offer details, not verified current pass or subscription terms.
How should Season 3 be compared with the preceding OG season?
The announcement supports three clear comparison points: Lucky Landing and the meteor’s progression on the map; the distinction between launch loot, later additions and Season 2 carry-overs; and the associated features and mode, including vending machines, landscape traps, Supply Llamas and OG 50v50. It does not provide a full reconstruction of every change from the preceding season.
