Defeat one and scavenge it to get a Fireball Burner, a throwable that creates a damaging patch of fire. For objectives requiring a Burner kill, weaken a valid target first and let the Burner’s fire deliver the final blow; follow the exact target wording in the objective.
How to recognize and fight a Fireball
The ARC Raiders Wiki describes Fireballs as small, spherical machines that roll toward targets. When close, a Fireball opens its front panel and releases a flamethrower burst. The panel exposes an unarmored core, making that the clearest target when it opens. The wiki says light ammunition is ineffective against the closed shell, while medium or heavy ammunition or a hard-hitting weapon can damage it. These are community-wiki descriptions, not official developer guidance or firsthand testing. ARC Raiders Wiki: Fireball
- Target the core: Shoot the exposed core during the opening between attacks.
- If attacking the shell: Use the heavier or harder-hitting options described by the wiki rather than relying on light ammunition.
- Avoid the flame: Keep distance, dodge roll away, or use terrain the machine cannot navigate, according to the wiki.
The Fireball page lists 20 health, 100 XP for destroying a Fireball, and 200 XP for scavenging its core. These are community-wiki game values, and may change with updates.
Where to look for Fireballs
The community wiki says Fireballs are found most often in bunkers or underground, and rarely in the open world. It suggests checking Metro entrances in Buried City and a large underground bunker in the upper-right area of Blue Gate. These are places to search, not guaranteed spawn points. How to get and use a Fireball Burner
Scavenge a defeated Fireball to obtain its Fireball Burner, according to the item page on the community wiki. The Burner is thrown; on impact, it creates a small fire that damages ARC and Raiders in its area. The wiki lists a damaged Burner as retrievable afterward. ARC Raiders Wiki: Fireball Burner
The item page lists the fire as dealing 5 damage per second for 10 seconds within a 2-meter radius. It also lists a stack size of 3 and an item value of 640. These are patch-sensitive in-game values from a community wiki page last modified June 23, 2026—not official figures—so check the current game if the exact numbers matter.

How to get a Fireball Burner kill for an objective
Read the objective’s target literally: “destroy any ARC enemy using a Fireball Burner” and “destroy a Fireball with a Fireball Burner” call for different targets. All Things How’s guide, updated October 18, 2025, advises that the Burner must deliver the final blow and that the target must match the objective. This is an unofficial guide’s recommendation, not a guarantee that every attempt will register, especially if game behavior or quest text changes. All Things How: How to destroy any ARC enemy using a Fireball Burner in ARC Raiders
- Get a Burner: Defeat and scavenge a Fireball.
- Choose a valid target: For an “any ARC enemy” objective, the guide suggests Pops, Ticks, or another Fireball as easier targets; it warns that armored enemies can be poor choices. If the objective names a Fireball, target a Fireball.
- Weaken the target without killing it: Deal enough damage to make the final burn plausible, but stop before it dies.
- Throw the Burner and let the fire finish the target: Avoid teammate damage or stray shots taking the final credit.
The target-selection tips and kill-credit advice come from the dated guide; the game’s current quest text and credit rules take precedence if they differ.
